Was gonna try get a grow going in time for the holidays but life and stuff and just haven't got to it. Also gonna be buying, not sure where yet.

To be fair, if I lived in South Africa, I might just order too. I mean, its so easy. You don't have to worry about it. It isn't legal, but your chances of being busted are virtually nil. It isn't that expensive - I think you'd pay something like R300 for a trip. Getting drunk costs more than that.

That being said... I enjoy growing. It has its own rewards, besides just the mushrooms. Its cool when things go well and you actually get your own shrooms that you have grown yourself.

EDIT: I will say, even in the UK, I prefer growing in winter. Less insects. Rumour has it that insects spread contamination to grows, plus its just nasty seeing flies laying eggs in your substrate.

This is a picture of my first attempt, I have three identical tubs but only one has any growth so far and all along the sides for some reason. Golden Teachers with Coco Coir/Vermiculite substrate. :)

I'm jealous! Looks good! Might be that you aren't getting enough evaporation occurring in the centre. Enjoy your mushies!
 
Nice, on the growing front. I have a syringe of spores, but I am likely out of town in December, so will give it a go when I return. I very much look forward to seeing how it goes.
 
Posting for a friend in KZN..

As a teenager I almost immediately, after the first few times experiencing alcohol and all it had to offer, decided to do a little research on substances to educate myself on their effects and consequences, but also to see what else was out there that may better suit me and my mind. Anyway.. I, like many others, found it pretty absurd that alcohol (with all the trouble it can bring with its abuse) is completely legal, yet cannabis is/was not. Soon after, I made it a mission and alone ventured around in an effort to find some bud (and not easily through a friend or something, as I guess I didn't hang in the right crowds being a well disciplined introverted strict-school-attending young lad). I eventually managed to source some flowers, and it was, and has been, well and good since then.

Now it is over a decade later, and I've entered my 30's. When looking back at the copious amounts of cannabis consumed, there are no regrets there, esp. considering that I always remained responsible and conservative with my use (not to say that I'm a light weight). But there is one potential regret..an itch that remains to be scratched.. and that is with psychedelics. I've always had this on the to-do list from day one, but due to the status and availability of such items, I have never ventured out to try and find them. I always thought that there'd be an occasion or opportunity where it would happen, but again since I'm not very out-going, that scenario has never occurred, and still to this day I've never come across something like that, be it salvia, shrooms, acid or other.

I'm aware that there are online facilities, but looking at the feasibility, it doesn't excite me much, factoring in the delivery fees as well. And it seems an expensive endeavor just to have one 'adventure'. I would prefer to give this a thorough testing, and expect that I would like to experience this for more than a single occasion, assuming it can be reasonably afforded. Also I'm not sure how tolerant I am, and feel it wouldn't be ideal to end up purchasing too little for a thorough experience, but purchasing more adds up fast.. so a small dilemma. Hence my message here to reach out..

And before your suggest it, yes I would love to grow but am not really able or keen to go that route.

The TL;DR is that I'm looking to socialize and make a friend or two in KZN, and would be happily willing to make that 'friendship' worthwhile from my end. ;) Thanks for reading, Cheers :thumbsup:

Your friend wants someone on these forums to put him in touch with an actual dealer who can supply shrooms without charging a delivery fee?

Your journey sound very relatable so I'll bite. First off I'm cursed with bad genes or something but getting high or tripping has always been a mission, as such I have spent a small fortune over the years on cannabis and mushrooms over the years and your mileage may vary. I have tried a certain online vendor's merchandise without success but perhaps you'll have a better experience but be warned it's going to be expensive but worth it. Unfortunately if you're like me after your first good trip you're going to realize you are going to need a crap load of shrooms because you just want to share how beautiful the experience is with everyone and the only way to achieve that is by growing your own. I've been doing varying doses and strains almost biweekly now for the last couple of months but come harvest time I would hopefully have enough to go real deep and face some issues over December.

As for the other items on your list Salvia actually grows quite easily in KZN and there is a grower selling plants from that area. As for Acid/LSD/DMT been on my bucket list since forever but impossible to get so far. KZN also has a magic mushroom growing in the wild so that might be another option, if you check on Shroomery on very old posts they list areas where it grows, might be worth it to go forage for some. Hope you come right.
