The Tattoo Thread

Hi, looking for some suggestions pls - looking to do a fairly complicated half sleeve design, have sort of an idea in what direction I want to go. Can you recommend me a respectable artist in the Cpt area pls?

What style? Trad, black & grey realism, new school, tribal (spit) etc.

Find an artist that specialises in the style of tattoo you are interested in. Every man and his dog is going to suggest his preferred artist, or the guy that did the infinity sign or child's DOB on his wife's wrist, but this means nothing if the artist doesn't do the style of tattoo you want very well. There are loads of jack-of-all-trades style shops that can do simple run of the mill tattoos, but if you want a proper traditional Japanese style back piece, or a B&G portrait o your granpa on your chest there would be no point going to an artist that does tribal walk-ins or copies of tattoos that girls print off pinterest all day.

Some amazing work , little colour, but still excellent.

He specialises in B&G. Which is why I say if you want a B&G piece go find the artists that specialises in B&G, don't just go to the guy your cousin's wife's best friend suggested because he did the dandelion-morphing-into-flying-birds piece on her forearm down at the local mall for R800.

Yep , hear you

Personally i just prefer lots of colour over plain B&G, but then my 'pale skin" is like a fresh canvas as the guy I use put it. :)

I only posted his work because some was asking about who to go to for some B&G work. I'm also into full colour traditional.

True words spoken.

Tattoo sleeve is almost complete. About 2 sessions left or 6 hours to go.

Did the horses 3 months ago, and then did Helios this past Saturday. Photos in black and white to hide the redness of my arm.

How much did that set you back.
And yes, one sitting, means you have an AMAZING artist. I cannot do an art like that on paper in one sitting.

R3150, yes, sounds way to cheap but she does not want to raise her prices and she's in Paarl so she says rent is not expensive for her. Told her I would happily pay more than double that but she refuses.
My 3rd one she did.

She does work fast
