Is possible. We have always run Ford in the fleet. Went with this Isuzu in order to get out of a Citroen DS4 (Citroen dealer group owned a Isuzu dealership so they could settle Citroen and put us into Isuzu). Was a terrible experience.

Top spec Diesel D/C 4x2 is priced R30k cheaper than a Ranger 4x2 D/C XLT - that is very aggressive from Toyota....

I currently have a 2012 Toyota HiLux Double cab 4x4, and have been tempted to look at alternatives to 'Brand Toyota' when I decide to trade in my current bakkie.
I need a 4x4, due to the many dirt roads I travel in the Overberg. I have owned only Toyotas for many years.
The dorp I live in only has service facilities for Toyota and Ford, so I would need to decide between on 2 brands, the 2016 HiLux, or the 2016 Ranger. The Jury is still out ..

Very interesting.. base pricing is more competitive on the Ranger, higher end pricing is more competitive on the Hilux.

Not a 100% fair comparison but I got my 4x2 D/C 2.2 Ranger in October for roughly the same as the lowest specced 2016 Hilux Single Cab, assuming the Hilux prices above are ex-VAT.

Those prices include VAT. Toyota is expensive, but not THAAAAT expensive.

The Ranger 2.2 xl for R299 000 was an unbeatable deal though. It was a run out of the old model.
Indeed. Ford Credit did some aggressive Ecosport, Fiesta, Focus, Kuga and Ranger deals last year which moved big stock volumes. Bang for buck, the R299k Ranger 2.2 D/C deal was astounding as retail prices of vehicles escalated.

What impressed my was how long they kept those deals going. Single cab 2.5 ranger for R165 000 and dc 2.2 for R299 000 were available for almost the entire year.
