The truth about Openweb

just been informed by Hellopeter.com - "The report you wrote about OpenWeb has been deemed “Inappropriate” by the Supplier."

OW are not subscribed to HP - and apparently are listed as a company who does not respond.

If they have picked up on the article then someone from OW is still reading this thread. :erm: ... or is an avid HP fan - but doubt this is the case.

If someone from OW is still reading this thread, and disputes the comments, I would urge them to respond with evidence to the contrary if such exists.

Should there be no response, well we have no other option to take the story on this thread as being correct.

Now go fetch the popcorn .... although I would settle for beer and biltong personally .......:D:D:D

Same here. He sent me some pretty surprising messages when I complained about usage/throttling.

That's it.

I really wanted to like Openweb. I gave them many chances, but eventually I moved off to a competitor, and I haven't looked back since.

Haha, nah. I don't have the email anymore, so I don't wanna say too specifically, but it was around the lines of: I don't give a flying fsck about your problems, if you're having issues stop bothering me.

That's pretty much what I used to get too.

I think I can kind of understand it. HelloPeter deals more with specific grievances and complaints experienced by a user, not lists of general grievances compiled from the complaints of various members.

HelloPeter isn't the place for posting company smear campaigns. Not that I'm saying you're wrong for trying to spread awareness of the issues, but I can also see why HelloPeter would object.

Maybe the OP should contact a Journalist from another site such as Mail and Guardian, discuss the info with them and get them to investigate more thoroughly? Not that OP didn't do a good job, but perhaps there is more to find. M&G can then contact OW for comment and publish an article if the editor sees fit.

Good luck getting anywhere with Alistair Fairweather, the M&G's so-called tech guru. Dude's like Aki on 702 - functionally retarded.

You've met him? I have, and he came across as intelligent and open. Aki on the other hand I can agree with (after having met him on many occasions).

So, what, because you've met him the dude is deemed intelligent? Right.

He's the M&G CTO, not a Journalist. So yeah, doubt you'd get very far with him if you wanted an article written about a random ISP :)

I find his blog posts quite well researched and usually factually correct, he's on a whole different level to Aki, who really is just an arb who likes tech and the sound of his own voice, and has made a career putting the two together.
