I just want to warn all of you here at mybroadband

I emailed [email protected] to cancel my ADSL as it almost never works and I did this back in 2015 (november) still today it has not been cancelled and they are billing me and saying I owe them the money. I have since forwarded proof of cancellation and they are ignoring me and sending me emails to say my account is in the arrears. I have called them over 30 times and now they ignore my calls and when i threatened them with a lawsuit they told me over the phone that I am swearing and then hung up... yet not a single swear word was said.

Apprently i cannot speak to their admin about this issue I have to email them .. in which i never get a reply not even via support tickets or live chat.


What should I do next? This is pathetic that they can steal from me like this. their service is unbearable in just 2 hours after using it I was "shaped/throtteled" yet i don't use P2P and the only time i got access was from 8PM so i immediatly cancelled and now they are refusing to cancel my account since november..


Please assist.
 
They kept on sending me invoices for about 18 months after I cancelled my account.

Why don't you ask their media partner Mybroadband.co.za, Openweb is their preferred service provider?

Apparently they have a lot of brand synergy.
 
I have sent a followup with ICASA regarding these guys as they are operating Illegally. It's time to stand up

Would this analogy seem fair: Zuma-Mybroadand and Gupta-Openweb?

I'd say it's a fair analogy.
 
Just go to the police and open a claim of theft. Then take it to the bank and get them to reverse the money.

And as others suggested, pm the owner of this site or the guys that write the almost daily OpenWeb promotions. MyBB and OpenWeb is the Zupta of the broadband world.

and i guess it is obvious to add - dont even think of using the account anymore... they keep track of each time you connect and will thus have proof

The account doesn't even work. but apprently they resell accounts?? . I haven't used it since then

They'll just have to make sure they don't provide proof of the person sharing the account with you by accident :rolleyes:

1. I think point one is completely moot. Look at Crystalweb (as an example of an ISP that started ~3 years ago), they had much better network and support service than Openweb did.
2. Didn't openweb state that they were IS resellers at a time... Hence the account names and issues with passwords? Anyone Remember that incident with the IS portal?
3. For a long time after I left OW, I considered value to be a company actually just delivering. Nothing additional, just being able to use a damn product, as advertised, was enough. That's how low my expectations fell. The successors had blown my expectations out of the water with actual service delivery and on top of that, value added services.

I see the "doctor" still lurks the forums, yet doesn't do anything to sway the legions of negative opinions.
 
I was with OpenWeb a few years back, for a short while, I was sold on them being the bees knees by my brother... but he and I clearly had completely opposite experiences, so glad i jumped that ship early on.
