The truth about Openweb

And guess what?? I am another victim of their scams. Same story. Signed up. Tried their service for a couple of days, saw it was throttled and of no use to me. Cancelled in the same month. And no I am stuck with a "lawyer" charging me ridiculous fees trying to get me to pay for something that is crap. Can anybody help me with this?

Why did you sign up with them in the first place?

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.... a lot of us have gone through it before.

Tip..... research before investing in something ;)

Truth about CrystalWeb/EvoNet soon to follow?
IDK... hopefully.
But Mr Kaplan is really laying low.. him and his partner are visibly absent from social media. Haven't seen any posts from them in many months.

What exactly happened to Crystalweb? I remember winning 100GBs of ADSL data from them on here when they started out, and the packet loss was so bad that I was barely able to use half of it. I don't think it was really a competition, it was more about getting people onboard to test the network.

I heard after they switched over to IS, things improved quite a bit though.

The company's ethos changed as the directors and founders found themselves more and more detached from the actual goings-on in the company starting in mid-2016, and that's where the slide started. You should check out my article to get a summary of it, but digging deeper would require more people at EvoNet speaking up and that's currently not happening.

Also, it didn't help that the Cybersmart backbone, which back then was a bit crappy but cheap enough to get them started, wasn't very performant in comparison to industry-leading networks from IS and Vox.

Thank you, that explains why Shaun didn't give a toss after a while.

I guess this is as good a thread as any to necro.

Anyone else been getting mails from Openweb and Keoma all of a sudden? I got a mail from them on Sunday for the first time in many, many years and then another one today.

Lets hope my unsubscribe was successful.

Got the same, just searched my emails for "OpenWeb" and I had logged a ticket with them in 2015 and 2016 requesting to delete my details and unsubscribe from their spam but doesn't seem like they care.

1122 gonna 1122.

I went and checked and I also have a ticket from 2016 where I opted-out.

Has openweb actually been functioning the last 8 years?

Yes, under very heavy censorship on social media. I mean, if you mention anything related to accounts sharing you get banned from their pages

I got this email, I assume the storage is shared so we can browse other customers data
