I'm in agreement with that. It's a no-go for me until they pull finger with DSTV Now

Mi Box has Chromecast built inIs there an app that I can use on my Android Media Player to stream my phone's screen to the player? Something similar to Chromecast.
MiracastIs there an app that I can use on my Android Media Player to stream my phone's screen to the player? Something similar to Chromecast.
But doesn't Miracast only work with a Smart TV?Miracast
Any experience on the device yet ?
How do you stream dstv on your R-Box? Mine doesn't want to?I'd also like to know. Currently have a R-Box that streams DSTV 100% and comes with a 1gig NW...
Nope works perfectly with any tv and Android box.But doesn't Miracast only work with a Smart TV?
Or will I be able to mirror my Cellphones screen on a Android media player on the same network?
Great. It'll try it.Nope works perfectly with any tv and Android box.

So on my Android 7.1.2 box it had Kodi, Plex and Showmax - and all worked. It downloaded the Netflix but gave an incompatibility error - and I haven't tried a new box yet. It seems from what I read, the issue may have carried over and there is no Netflix?
Going on the photo someone posted earlier, DSTV won't be available till 4 weeks (after launch, maybe?)
I'll try get a box for this weekend and test the actual unit

But launch was late August and 4 weeks later should be about next week? Which mean that they will only sell in stores once all the apps marked in pink (Box Office, DSTV etc) are ready to go. Hopefully next week then?
Which model do you have?I'd also like to know. Currently have a R-Box that streams DSTV 100% and comes with a 1gig NW...
Correct, HDR requires HDMI 2.0 port, period. Colour depth is a different things, HDMI 1.3 already defined 10, 12 and 16 bits colour depth, also UHD and 4K resolution is since HDMI v1.4.As mentioned, the one port is only HDMI 2.0 which allows for the HDR metadata ; but UHD has been supported by HDMI 1.4 since late 2009. In other words, all ports are UHD and only one UHD HDR
Nope. 10-bit panel is welcome, but not required. In fact many budget HDR monitors have 8-bit panels, not only yours. High dynamic range is achieved by manipulating brightness and transfer function (it replaces a standard gamma function - a legacy of CRT TVs).I actually have a feeling (still Googling) that HDR requires 10 bit colour depth and not 10 bit panel?
In other words it seems the factor that is missing (albeit, a large factor) is the brightness on this panel.
Could be wrong though
Can confirm that the Gateway Telkom store in Durba, has it but will not sell it, just yet. A friend of mine went to get one and they tried selling a him a contract to get one and were trying to shy away from the 24 month payment option. Guess they using this to push their contracts.
I just need Kodi, Netflix and Dstv with audio passthrough and I'm golden. Was leaning heavily towards the Mi Box until this showed up. Hope it lives up to the hype.
