This is the Telkom LIT Android media box

from that video clip it is android tv so 4k should be possible for netflix
and yes dstv app for android tv does work fine
 
I'll try get the box tonight to play and test.

This is Android TV and there are certifications going on at present AFAIK
 
Yes this is Android TV, the guy in the video is using the android tv remote control app that obviously only works with android tv.

Oh, how long i waited for this to become available locally.

This is now basically a Mi Box with built in Ethernet, available locally for only R1099.

Exactly what I want to help my aging smart TV.
 
I have Chrome, IE and Edge as not every system I use is compatible.

I do have Plex, yes - so I'll try check :

Netflix UHD
Showmax
Plex
Kodi
DSTV Now

I do suspect though, that the remote isn't voice as the press release says. I also hear that things like DSTV Now isn't quite ready yet - but will be very soon

If at all possible with the Plex testing can you test 10 bit 1080P x265 and a file with DTS or AC3 audio.
 
Anyone know when these boxes go on sale (without taking it as part of the data packages)?

The Mi Box has a Plex issue where surround files make it freak out and not play properly and this has the same SoC.

Edit: It seems the Plex issues on the Mi Box were fixed in the last update.
