This is the Telkom LIT Android media box

Damn. Just got a Mygica 495x. Ah well.
How's your experience . Really don't like it. Definitely not as easy to use as an AppleTV.

After switching to android from iOS, I thought I'd get me an android box to have KODi and Netflix on my bedroom TV without needing to jump through hoops

The mygica box with android 6 (don't think it's android TV) Is a disappointment

Voice search doesn't work, navigating interface or installed apps requires you to use the mouse or virtual mouse sometimes which is a total fail, the HDMI CEC control doesnt work (e.g how can I use my 8 year old Samsung TV remote to control /navigate both my KODi/Pi box and apple TV but not mygica box) , there is no Chromecast type function where I can send stuff from phone to device , or remote Bluetooth control to allow easy typing etc.

I guess the Telkom LIT box may have the same shortcomings since it's based on crappy Android release that is designed for phones and not TV?

What's your internet speed?

What happens with the 100, 90, 80, 70, 60 etc hevc 10bit files http://jell.yfish.us/ which you can open via vlc network stream option?
I have 20Mbps VDSL.

One thing I noted was that YouTube wasn't playing 4K video. There wasn't even the option and it went to 1080 only.

I only tried the two jellyfish via Plex.

Also, I'll try with sound via optical tonight. So far, only been trying the video side of things

The Telkom box is Android TV and not a modified android version

I did see something about casting when I was going through.

How do I check for sure?
In Chrome browser to start casting, you can either click Chrome’s menu on the right side of the window and select “Cast”, or right-click the current page and select “Cast”.

See if this works please.

I am on the 50GB package and use itunes steaming all the time at home.
If they offer at least 720p on Setflix and Showmax, this would be perfect for me!

And then I wonder if more than one device can be connected to the same data package...

:wtf: itunes pr0n??!

Lit box will support 360p YouTube zero rated data. Nothing higher at presnt

For normal data conscious users, this will be fine. Those who know how to sideload an apk, install the latest version and 1080p/4k? More info please :p and thanks for letting us know about it.

The last photo is a YouTube 4K video stream ...

It's not working :/

I tried watching a YouTube video on my phone too and sending to the TVB - but it says error. BUT, remember, this is an early unit and on startup it DOES say Chromecast Built In.

Have you managed to side load any apps
Terrarium , Kodi......?

Kodi is standard ...no need to root or anything. And as this is not my box, I'm not going to ;)

Excellent. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.

Seems I will wait for this to be released and get it instead of the Mi Box. Seems it has all the same functions and is cheaper.
