This is the Telkom LIT Android media box

Box is basically a Mibox clone. I will get one..Too many boxes

Well its cheaper, has a local warranty and includes an ethernet port, so it's even better than a Mi Box in my opinion.

Will get one of these to replace my Amazon Fire TV upstairs. The Mi Box is working well downstairs, bar a few issues streaming remux's over WiFi.

I tried these streams on Plex :

1. jellyfish-40-mbps-hd-hevc-10bit.mkv 40 Mbps 1920x1080 HEVC Main10 4.1 High 146 MB
2. jellyfish-110-mbps-hd-hevc.mkv 110 Mbps 1920x1080 HEVC Main 5.1 High 401 MB
3. (HDR HEVC 10-bit 25fps) Astra DVB Sample 1Gb

Two played - but the bolded jellyfish video was limited by the network speed - but I suspect it'd play on a faster network and wasn't a processing issue

I suspect the second jellyfish video would play if one using a faster network

So you could install Plex without issue?
Pic of the remote?

I'm only hearing about this now!!! I'm on Telkom fixed LTE Uncapped...wonder what advantages I can expect with LIT

Plex and Kodi are both in the Play store and install without issue. I just went into the Kodi interface and messed around, but the streaming is via Plex which is flawless. Netflix though, installs, but won't run. An update shortly sorts that out.

I got two remote - but I think the one the right is new. The one on the left comes with a USB dongle - though I haven't tried it. Also, although Android TV supports voice searching, I can't get the voice searching to work

It's too bad your Wi-Fi isn't faster, if this box can play this file, jellyfish-120-mbps-4k-uhd-hevc-10bit, it will be able to play anything you'd be able to get your hands on.

So @Dolby Plex works, 10bit files work, Netflix works and you get a remote?

Where did you get yours so soon?

I know the right people, I guess. They're not selling it AFAIK.

Netflix doesn't work yet - it will very soon though. And I think you'll only get the new remote with no USB dongle. I just both to try

They said end of September so probably just fixing the Netflix and other niggles it might have before launch.

why are people panicked about it not having gigabit?

It's for streaming...Unless you have Gigabit Internet it means nothing to you and even then nobody streams at that speed.

It needs nothing more than 802.11n wireless to get the job done.

@Dolby, can you cast to it like with the Mi Box?

What's your internet speed?

What happens with the 100, 90, 80, 70, 60 etc hevc 10bit files http://jell.yfish.us/ which you can open via vlc network stream option?

Thank you.

The Mi Box has a Plex issue where surround files make it freak out and not play properly and this has the same SoC.

Edit: It seems the Plex issues on the Mi Box were fixed in the last update.
Did a Plex update fix it or a Mi Box update?

Apparently Plex.

"I can confirm that surround passthrough in the plex app was fixed in the last update."

"I use it almost exclusively for Plex which I've had no issues with.
It used to mess up some HEVC content but that was fixed for me ~6 months ago and have had no issues with Plex since."

I bet it'll block pirate streaming, my thoughts as a noob. But quite surprising of Telkom.
