I don't think it will receive IR signals without a receiver plugged in?

Remember I got one before the launch ... they gave me two remote at that time : one with a dongle and one without. I used the one without the dongle and it worked, so my guess is that the device can do IR. I tried the next remote with a dongle and it only worked when the dongle was in - was no response without it.

My guess is that the first remote was standard IR and working.

They are ... the units that were Android 6 were supposed to have been sent back and then upgraded to Android 7. Most of them (99%) were sent back and upgraded - but there *may* be odd the Android 6 floating around. They can be upgraded - but not user upgraded at this point.

Also, if it has the sleeves it should be Android 7 ... a plain white box is generally 6
 
So, I have been following this thread closely, but decided to wait a bit before getting this box. Last night the video card on my Microserver packed up, so I bought last box from N1 City.

A few months ago I bought the MX Pro but returned it the next day. Too much lag, buffering, etc.

Happy to say the LIT Box is at whole different level. Nice premium feel to it.

We have a 40 MB fibre line. WiFi router about 30m away.

Kodi: installed easily. Streams HD quality from the addons. Streams my movies from the Microserver over the network with no buffer. Microserver is also connected to the network via WiFi.

Showmax: Perfect. Looks HD. No buffer.

DStv Now: sideloaded the latest version. Catch-up works in HD, no buffer or dimming. Live Mnet channel works with no dimming but definitely not HD. Don't have a air mouse so unable to check the sports channels.

Cast DStv: Tried to cast SS2 from my redmi 3S. First attempt froze. Second attempt worked but looked like SD quality.

Will provide more feedback as I tinker over the next few days.

I haven't noticed any slow-downs, and earlier I was testing with a 4k 28GB file

Im not referring to slowdowns due to high bitrate. The framerate switching is is not working properly, resulting in jerky playback.

It ships with an airmouse type remote. Not sure how you need mouse functionality to get to Supersport channels?

I may be missing something then. On the TV guide screen, how do you scroll to the channels not on the page? I thought you would need a mouse that has a wheel?
