Does the LIT do Kodi?


And is it compatible with a Harmony remote?

Yes, Kodi is available on the Google Play store. I use it to stream and watch media files on USB drive and via network.

Harmony is a IR remote? LIT has it's own remote with air mouse built-in.

Yes, IR remote. I guess I can teach it from the LIT. Do you need to use the air mouse functionality or is it usable with standard up/down/left/right keypress stuff? One remote ftw.

It works with both IR and Bluetooth (if you have the Harmony Hub), at least on my Shield TV but it shouldn't be different with the LIT.

It's usable with the standard key presses. You press the mouse icon to enable the air mouse. I don't know if LIT has IR... Not sure

I don't think its a good idea to be comparing two devices and assume they are the same. There is no IR on my remote at all

edit : I take that back, I think there is :crylaugh:
 
I don't *think* the remote has IR to learn from, Sinbad

The device has an IR window to receive though
 
I've tried all versions of DSTV Now.

I'm running 1.32.2 now. Upwards the interface is much better but the stream quality is terrible. On 1.32.2 I get HD Quality.

Only problem now is that I still get the Dimming issue. I rather have the dimming issue than SD quality streaming

PS. I'm still looking for a app to monitor my data usage. I will let you guys know as soon as I find something that works. For those of you who are interested.

Fyi - when doing side loading - manually uninstall the app first - i'm finding that if i try a different version of a apk - it sometimes says installed but stays on old version or gives a error when installing.

I always force stop, uninstall, then install

When I open this version (after installing) it's dimmed already, but I can see that the quality is pretty good.

Can you confirm that this is what you mean when you say dimming issue? I thought it played fine until it was idle for a few minutes and THEN only dimmed... :confused:

By dimming I mean the streamed content is not as bright as it would be with the newer version.
The menus are bright, but as soon as start watching something, it's darker (dimmed)

go to a Telkom store and ask for one :) You just need to make sure you get the one with ver. 7.1.2 android TV. There are still some old versions floating around... avoid them.
