At least Lotto isn't proper gambling. You go in expecting to lose, unlike the roulette table.

Indeed. But some people don't see it that way and they still go crazy.

I've seen family of a friend play thousands and thousands of rands with the hope of winning big. They were almost out on the street.

Jeez, that's scary. I must have taken a quick pick about 10 times in my life. Can't seem to make it a regular thing, but I am certainly no gambler. Once every few years a group of us mates will do a big casino night out, I hate watching my money get given away even if I ear marked that amount to be gambled.
 
I was on the phone, activating mine.

The guy basically said that if you use R200, then you pay a service fee of R57.
But anything below that then it is free, as in no service fee.
I activated an overdraft of R1000 where I will use 10% of that to meet the eBucks requirement.

So why are you some of you paying for the service when you can do the same?

Hadn't thought of it actually. That makes sense. My OD is around R68k, so I have to use R6801 to earn the points. Maybe I should reduce it like you've done.

Well the Premier lot have agreed that it doesn't look right so now they've sent it off to the Credit Card division.
 
I'm pretty sure the rules say that one must use at at least 10% of your overdraft, with a minimum usage of R1k.?

The minimum is 10% of R10 000 if Recall. Also, if you pay back the 10% within 30 days, there is a rebate to the R57 rand. Think its R29?

Do you have an Overdraft facility of at least R10 000 and use between 10% and 100% of it?

Do you have an Overdraft facility of at least R2 000 and use at least 10% of it, or a Temporary Loan, or a Revolving Loan or a Personal Loan?

Yea. After rebate it's a R35 fee. And then if your like me and transfer the money into your CC, when you transfer it back to your cheque account there is a R3. 50 fee as well.

No, the guy took mine down to R1000.
You would only either get a rebate or free if you are above Gold.

Ok there we go, this makes sense.
This guy took mine down to R1000 but he wasn't too clued up on this rule of at least R2000.

This means that if I make use of the 10% (R200) then I have to pay them the service fee of R57, which actually means that I am losing out as I am getting poorer.
