Since the LTE trial, the coverage maps have been very inaccurate. Many a story has been told of people getting perfect coverage outside of what the coverage maps stated.

Today I looked up a few addresses, including my own, and all are now covered in LTE-pink. :cool:

Check your coverage again, people.

Nicely done Telkom Mobile.

Edit: tsk tsk, MTN hasn't updated theirs yet.

Time to invest in an LTE stick, wonder where I can get a good cheap one?

I actually noticed that both MTN and TM have updated their LTE coverage map. I got TM LTE and wanted to check the coverage where the tower is and nothing but a few days later it was updated. Same story with MTN. They eventually updated the coverage map too. MTN LTE on the coverage map works differently. They mark such a small radius around the tower that even out of that radius I get 4 bars of LTE signal.

EDIT: Hey look Vodacom finally updated theirs. I got a sms from the too saying you are currently in or close to a LTE covered area and that I should get a LTE device to use their super fast LTE.

Well I won't say its super fast and the fact they send it to my iPhone 5 which is a LTE device.

Good to hear, with Vodacom being the winner in communication.

All the locations I check for MTN LTE are still wrong...

Telkom mobile were the first to have LTE in my area. I wanted to go with Afrihost but they don't have LTE coverage in my area. Neither do Vodacom. I was always told to stay away from Telkom (Telkom = Helkom) but I must say I have been pleasantly surprised so far.

Rebel989, how far out are you? Have you tested?

@Dirk44, it's all a lie, you can't have LTE...the maps don't lie! :p
