TopTV - The total costs

In what aspect ration should it be transmitted in? I have an old square TV.

edit..... oh sorry... I see you answered this question already.....

To a degree I had...

If you have an old square TV then the decoder should either be able to chop the edge of the WS broadcast off (and only show the "safe" area), or to be able to letterbox the image.

"Letterbox" does that mean everyone will look like the stick men with narrow faces?

Nah.. they shouldn't..

You'll have black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.

The decoder seems to be a single view, but has anyone heard how they tend to implement dual view? Will they use something like DSTV's Xtraview or will a dual view decoder be released in the future? Family turmoils will erupt if dual view or xtraview is not given.

GTI07, if I broadcast in 4:3 and you display in 16:9 the content will be stretched.

If I broadcast in 16:9 and you display in 16:9 then the content will appear in its correct ratio and look better.

Understood, thanks bud. So lets hope that it will be in 16:9 ratio.

YEAH WHAT HE SAID.

I just had a definite reply from TopTV. No Dual View. To watch seperate content on different TVs in your house you will need a decoder for each TV, and you will have to pay twice. There will be a HD /PVR in Q1 2011, but no word if that will have dual view.

they should at least give a discount for having two decoders

Well it's half the content and a lot of Gospel channels? Really does that really sell?

If it is twice for the decoder then ok, but will your subs be double as wel??

I will then use Dstv EasyView for 1 TV & TopTV on the other one.
