Toyota 86

Who's we? And I lusted for one (it looked so good) until I drove it. Pedal to the metal and...prrrrrt. So not an armchair critic. I feel my critique is valid and based in experience. Even you keep qualifying it with *at the coast.

So no, if you try and defend it's power as adequate you are lying through your teeth. If it was perfect you would be driving a 86 and not an S2000.

The only real consensus here is that 86 owners on the forum (especially Mike) relies on their car to make up 80% of their personality. And pointing out flaws on the car, o boy, that's an attack on the personality.

You're the one harping on about turbos, straight lines and altitude. I like the car for what it is. If you call it slow, I will tell you that you're talking schit. It's as simple as that, nothing to do with my personality. Says a lot about yours though...

How did you come to that conclusion? What a thumb suck.
Of course it's my opinion, I don't have multiple personalities so I can't speak for we. And yes I do conclude in it's current format it's a very disappointing car.

However, feel free to check the reviews. I have yet to see a reviewer not pointing out that the car could do with a few more horses. And the reviews are often done at sea level, which gives validation to my own experience.

You implied if the GT86 was as good as I say, I'd own one instead of an S2000. What part don't you understand?

I personally think every car can do with a few more horses, that includes the GT86. Doesn't justify the hate directed at it.

You don't know what you don't know. If you are used to slow and don't know what you are missing good for you. I'm was not so fortunate.

Oh ****, I suppose I now have to hate how slow my S2000 after driving a GTR, V8 M3, V10 M5 and plenty of other cars that are much faster in a straight line than my poor 177kw (minus 17%).

My Fiesta with just CAI kit made more torque than a 86 with R100K Rob Green super charger on.

You are so deep in Mike's handbag you'll defend it to the death. So be it. If you can't fathom why almost every single professional reviewer points out that it is under-powered, then how will I possibly let you see the light? I won't. If believing the car is fine makes you happy, be happy.

Speaking of handbags, did you ever get your balls back out of your wife's handbag after she wouldn't let you drag race Mike?

The GT86 will be better with more power, doesn't means it's a fun little car as is now.

Because you are used to driving those cars. Derp.
Pretty sure you did not go from a GTR to a S2000 as your regular driver.

I had a revo'd Audi A3 2.0T before I got an 86. You're in no position to tell me that I don't know what power is. I got it because I knew what I wanted from a car - why must I get a car that needs lots of power and speed to get the tail out, when I can get one that can do it at 40 km/h?

Please rather go stand in a circle with your mates at a dyno day, and have a group w@nk at the dyno graphs. People like you know nothing, that's why you have to troll car threads that have nothing to do with you...

Oh, now it needs to be a regular driver? Was the GT86 you tested a regular driver? Doubtful.

I stepped out of a GTR and into my S2000, could feel the difference right away, didn't hate my car for being significantly slower.

I'm content in wife's handbag. She's awesome and makes me happy.
Find it funny when guys thinks that's an insult.

Used to, IE you expect the power to be there. You don't want to understand cause you fill of ****e now. You and Mike frothing at the mouth, feeling each other up.

Handbags aside, don't worry Brenden, they'll make a faster version of the GT86 eventually, then you can buy one and be happy and not have to hate on the car anymore.

I drove the GTR for most of an afternoon, got pretty used to the power. What massive power were you used to before you test drove the 86?

My next car will be electric. No need to run on the remains of dinosaurs much longer.

Oh ok, so your entire argument is invalid, cool.

Flooring a sports car in 3rd gear on 2500rpm up a slight hill and hardly getting momentum is nothing to scoff at. Unique to the 86. It is special in this regard. Cool? Cool.

Lol at this thread... Quick tip, as soon as someone starts quoting power figures and 0-100 or 1/4 mile times they are a 14yr old boy playing top trumps.

The GT86 is an absolutely fantastic car to drive and if you can afford one and can live with it's impracticality then buy one, unless you are one of the 14yr old boy racers above, then buy your Polo GTI, look like a ****, mod it, break it and go crying to daddy for a new one.
