Secondly, and I'm talking to Lycanthrope now, you would be in the exact same position had you bought the drive from Take2/Sybaritic; they would have asked you to send the drive back, they would have sent it to the dealer etc. It would have been the same but slower, because they would not have done everything personally as PP has.
I've had one or two problems - one with Take2 and one with Sybaritic in particular. BOTH sent out their couriers the exact same day I mentioned problems. With Sybaritic they never had a graphics card (my problem) in stock, so I had to wait two weeks for a replacement, and when I got one it was a
better model than what I had - I was phenomenally impressed.
First off - it was my original understanding that had I not argued with PostmanPot, that he would only have picked up the dead drive, "On Friday, otherwise
definitely Monday or Tuesday" mentioning - as he has before - that he would be "running at a loss" had he come to pick it up on Friday - which is what he ended up doing.
The fact that he also mentioned that it would cost him petrol, and that he was so eager to accept my offer to deduct petrol costs from my refund (if I were to be refunded) seriously dented any respect I could've had for him. This is - in my opinion - unprofessional.
The fact that I let him know about the drive at - what was it? 12:05? - on the same day that the drive arrived, and that he decided that I wasn't enough of a priority for him to pick it up that same day - also revealed a deep sense of lack of professionalism. At least that is
how I felt and still feel.
Consider these my reasons for why I wanted to get as far away from him as possible and return to my preferred sellers.
Again - the above is merely my opinion and how I feel about this. I could be completely wrong about him, but eh... I've learned my lesson and won't make the same mistake again.
Can you imagine if I walked into WW and asked them for a bunch of bananas and the guy said "You argued with me last week so I'm not serving you". It's ridiculous and unprofessional.
I believe that most shops have a, "Rights Reserved" sort of policy
Edit: @ feo - I removed the "ripped off" tag, since it was
my suggestion to trade the R600 Seagate along with R500 for a R690(?) Western Digital. The rest remain as I
have received bad service and I
have been screwed - either by him, by his suppliers or by Western Digital.
