Traffic fines

I get totally p i s s e d off the way people treat speeding fines. The fact that they were actually breaking the law and got caught, doesn't seem to register.

Actually - it does - but two wrongs don't make a right... if the cops break the law by hiding in bushes, etc. etc. then why should I pay? Tell you what - once they finished charging the cop for trapping illegally, I'll pay my fine if its still valid.

They are only interested in soft targets, people they think will pay and provide an income, that's why taxi's do what they do - they know they can get away with it.

While we're amongst the murder capitals of the world, let's pool our policing recourses so they all can obscure themselves behind bushes and usilize speed trap impliments, from a safe benign distance, to enforce the law. Let the cops be proactive in their endeavours to slow speeding vehicles down by not been visible, at all. Let's drive over the kids in built up area's first, then be issued with a fine for speeding, retrospectively. I never tried to absolve myself from paying, I vehemently detest their methods, and the obvious cash generating mechanisms. Ppffftt!!

Exactly! how does it go, +1000

Who cares...it defeats the purpose of trapping... its just a money making racket. Feel free to pay all your fines.

Could anyone offer a bit of advice? I just signed up to payfine.co.za and see I have one listed from last year June. Never seen a paper copy, never got any notices, this is the first I've heard of it.

Looks like it came from a fixed trap, no pic attached, pretty small amount... Plus the enthusiastic people over at www.aarto.co.za say it's illegal (02-4024), and that demerits only start in April this year.

The only 'infringement notice" I've ever seen is the one prestik'd to a friend's dashboard (poor bastard) hehehe

If this is what you are wanting me to re-read slowly, then please re-write it slowly and correct your English. As an English teacher for 30 years, I am still trying to work out exactly what you are trying to say, as you were obviously not taught English by me....or some other chimpanzee.

If this is an attempt at sarcasm, then it would also "read" better if you improved your written English.

Regards

The Chimpanzee. :D

Ignore your fine, only pay up when you get a summons. In feb I will *touch wood* have my 3rd fine cancelled as they expire after 2yrs

mistake number 1.......registering on any of these payfine/viewfine websites.

No, I disagree.

They pick up your ID number on the fines, so registering for payfine means sweet blow all, they already have your number.

Perhaps you would prefer that we don't have ID numbers?

by registering on those sites, the "I never got the fine" doesnt fly anymore ;)

Oh I seeeee! ;) So you don't mind breaking the law, as long as nobody reminds you of the fact! :D

:D

I'd rather know about any fines I might have so that I can get them sorted out, than find myself at a road block having to please explain.

What difference does it make whether you got them by post or not anyway? Where can you use the excuse "I never got the fine" where it'll hold water?

you know i checked to see if i have any fines .... "No Offences were found" .... must be because i drive a stock white uno in excellent condition ;)

Question about payfine: Can you get a fine but it not appear on payfine? Think I've got one a month or so ago but it's not on there.
