TV episode renaming software

Have you looked at Sickbeard?
By far the best episode management system out there.

I have been using TVRename for a while now and it works very well.

The guy who gave it to me customized it so it generates a "missing episode list" that can be loaded on someone else collection and it will then copy only the files on the missing list. Great for keeping things in-sync with your friends.

I used TheRenamer and loved it. Then changed from torrent to NZBs and is using Sickbeard. Problem is the naming syntax differs. Still trying to figure out how to rename all my existing episodes to match the new Sickbeard standard.

E.G "Star Wars - The Clone Wars" in TheRenamer but
"Star Wars The Clone Wars" in Sickbeard

@swazz99jhb:

Code:
/config/postProcessing/
Check there for the naming convention. You can change it to suit your needs.

I still use TheRenamer for all my series.

SickBeard is cool for upcoming episodes, but I'm not sure if it can go back and process existing episodes. TheRenamer does a pretty good job of renaming your existing episodes. Either way, once you have SickBeard configured to do this, this problem will no longer exist.

+1 SickBeard.

My naming convention: Episode.Name.S01E01.Video.Quality.ext (e.g. South.Park.S11E12.720p.WEB-DL.mkv).

That's the naming convention the downloads come in so you don't have to change anything. Sickbeard is set to only download 720p so that makes the renaming a bit easier.

Mine will be South Park - S11E12 - Kenny's revenge

No, all downloads are different. This one is common though.

I also used to include episode names but sometimes can cause issues with funny special characters in the episode names, like this episode of X-files: Dæmonicus. This just caused hassles with different text encoding over my smb shares so just left it out.

FileBot Automatically Renames TV Show Episodes Using Correct Titles

Here's another one... worth a shot?

http://www.addictivetips.com/window...w-episodes-using-correct-titles-with-filebot/

A massive collection of songs, TV series and movies may give you bragging rights, but as collections grow, it gets harder and harder to keep them organized. You may move your files around to make room for new ones and store older ones unorganized for ages. FileBot is a Windows application that helps you organize your movies and TV series. It allows you to search for episode names for any series and rename the corresponding files using the downloaded list. Alternatively, it will also let you specify the pattern for renaming the files, though the syntax is limited to just appending serial numbers to the end of the file name. FileBot even lets you analyze entire media folders and view which subfolders and what file types have been saved to it. Lastly, you have the option to search for and download subtitles for movies.

Assuming you’ve got a ten media files of the same series to work with and each is named on a different pattern, you should head over to the List tab first. Enter the name of the series, limit the number to count to ten only and click create. Using AMC series The Walking Dead as an example to work with, we ended up with a list that reads The Walking Dead – 01 all the way to The Walking Dead – 10. You can save this list and then head over to the Rename tab.
