Ubuntu bets on desktop sparkle

Mole is 8 cores not a waste of time when 99% of programs don't use more than 1 core.

I would much rather prefer a i7 965 to your skulltrail :).

I attack everything, like an annoying little foxterrier bitch.
If I can't tear it to shreds I p1ss on it and find the next thing

More like a chihuaha. You make a lot of noise, but it is all just opinionated rubbish about how Windows and reactOS are better than anything else. You're too small to actually tear anything to shreds and your bladder is too small to hold enough urine to cause any real damage to whatever you pee on, yet you keep yapping away.

Your justification seems to be that these OSes "run Windows binaries", you have been repeatedly informed that Wine runs a large percentage of Windows binaries however you choose not to respond constructively to these observations. Sort of pathetic that you spend your days trolling forums defending one type of OS like it is the Grail or something.

Come to think of it, amobia is more my style.;)

How large is large ? 100% ?

What can I say, its an art, and I am the artist .

Eish - you my me sound like a linux user:rolleyes:

whould probably find verry small performance difference but guess I just like playing around with different technologies...i7 was an option at the time of buying but just had this itch in me driving me towards the skulltrain, wont say I'm regretting it at all today...but ok havent worked on an i7 yet....maybe that can be my next project when I'm eventually over the skulltrain phase

AMD is better than Intel (Dell and Apple use intel ). The key to being the best OS is to run the application that the biggest majority of users have. That be windows binaries, ReactOS does that without getting drunk on wine. It is a free and open copy of Windows. Which is all we need.

So does windows. And ReactOS.

So remind me again what it was that Windows 2000 does that Linux doesn't ?

Windows Genuine Advantage!!! :)

hmmm

MALWARE!!! You get tons of it, and cool adware/spyware like Bonzi Buddy! :)

killa, it is growing. The fact that guys like you are even trying it out is proof of that. 5 years ago, only the so-called elite were using Linux. 5 years before that, few people even knew what it was. But today, it's getting easier and easier to run Linux.

Bear in mind that the true purpose of Linux isn't to push itself on everyone out there and become the ONLY viable operating system. It also has no wish to become a free Windows. It has its own purpose, and its own goals. It's developed by the people who will actually use it.

Movie industry uses Linux. Eg a version of Shake is used by the film industry, for Linux.

Here's a run down of Linux use by Hollywood:

Leading engineering co's use Unix/Linux:

Considering you seem to communicate through fanboi opinions I will articulate my response to you in a form that you can comprehend:

Wine runs 100%!!!!! of ALL software!!! If you disagree then you're gay!!! and a hobo!!! and you sme -ooh I like pie...french revolution.

I hope that clears things up for you.

Aqua i don't hate linux but i think its growth is so small man, geez how long have you okes been going about it and pushing it on forums yet it's still a tiny %.

On my computers it is 66%. I don't care what other people have, I'm only concerned about what's on my computers.

The other 33% is my work laptop. Not a day goes by that I don't think that something would be easier if I was using linux.

But that's just me. Use whatever you're comfortable with.

I use Linux because it gives me that warm feeling inside, the same feeling I felt when I discovered the internet. When you figure out or learn something new on a PC it's an exciting feeling.

Oh yes and I don't have to worry about BSODs, malware or viruses :p

Why is there no open drivers team for Nvidianux and ATInux
Actually, there are.... it is companies like Nvidia and ATI (AMD) that are slow (scared, lazy, spiteful) when it comes to releasing their own propriety code to the public.

I know, it's probably a rhetorical question, but if you are really interested - use Google.

Bravo, spoken like a true Geek and that is how I feel. I have UBUNTU on my home desktop, my netbook , my wifes work PC and my work PC - I live in a good world :D
