Ubuntu Natty 11.04 Release

I just gave up and installed Arch last night on my netbook, I guess I'll just stick to the best.

KDE4 with direct rendering (what ubuntu could not do) and all the bells and whistles runs flawlessly atm.

Been using it for a week or so.

Still havening to find my way round the new UI.

Battery life seems to be OK'ish so far.

I miss the taskbar and old UI, was quick selecting apps you really need... *sigh*

That is why I put it off installing Arch on my netbook, thought it would be a mission to get everything working, but it wasn't, I'm pleasantly surprised to find that everything was quite straight forward.

It broke my netbook, no way in hell I would let it anywhere close to a server even if its a home server.

Downloaded on day of release, installed & using since. Unity needs some polish but system has been stable & I am getting used to the changes. Software Center is very good now but Empathy still does not work with MXit :-(

Why not? Let us hear it. That's really uncool to notice something does not work anymore, whereas it once did.

Can it just be the case of a conflicting driver that needs to be blacklisted?

I is the RTL8192U_USB firmware that got nuked.

I had to reinstall the kernel firmware and kernel sources to get it back, basically haul a cable all over that place from the router to the "broken" PC and reinstall those packages. Why on earth it did this in the first place is beyond me.

So I took the plunge and installed it on my Dell Studio 1555 notebook. Everything is working like a charm. The wireless proprietary drivers was picked and activated without any hiccups. The wide screen is working like a charm. Even my camera is working 100%.

Just need to get used to Unity, but so far no problems. Installed Kvpnc + vpnc and imported my .pcf files without a glitch and it connects to my remote vpn site's without any issue's.
