Ubuntu not seeing mp3 player

Greetings

I plugged in my mp3 player and dragged and dropped music into the music folder no problem.
Next time I switched it on while connected via usb and formatted it (from the player, not the pc). Now I can't see it at all unless I do a lsusb. And as a non-computer person I am now truly stuck.

Any ideas good people?

Fixed it. Plugged it into a Win XP machine and it picked it up right away. Plugged it back into Ubuntu and it's been fine ever since.

It was probably not properly unmounted.
