lets do little comparison.

during workhours
openweb's R6x0's = 128K
axxess 384K = 192K (its 384k till you reach your threshold which then is 192K, why i used that value)

non workhours
openweb's R6x0's = 1meg
axxess 384K = 4meg (though its 384k, its limitless after hours and weekends, so if you have 4meg you will get 4 meg)

use period
openweb's R6x0's = 15 days
axxess 384K = whole month

cost
openweb's R6x0's = R649
axxess 384K = R899 or R999 (depending on satellite or fiber)

so it is either an uncapped which only works for 15 days a month, which is 128k during working hours and 1meg after hours or
an uncapped which works whole month, which is 192K during working hours ( if your reach your threshold ) and max speed of your line after hours.

this is why most would say why the access uncapped 384k account is better.

dude, but u dont know if Openwebs non work hours goes up to 4mbs, cuz if u had a 4mb line and ur account is 1meg, then u download at 4megs, surely thats how it works?

sorry i must have missed the fine print somewhere (i wish that companies will some day learn to properly write out what their products is all about and not just sound ****ing cool). nonetheless its still 15 days compared to a whole months usage not to mention that the R999 one unshaped also in non working hours.

The 384Kbps line gets Throttled to 192kbps once you reach your threshold and not 128kbps. (From axxess)

Got to agree with you Blaaislaai, keep it simple and they will come.
 
One Day we will have true uncapped/unshaped and no restrictions what so ever one day when this country decides to go on the right path forward.

But likes of that happening most of us don't think it will.

Looks like we have to wait and strugle for the time being while we here.

Nope the access one is full speed without restrictions after hours, same as with the Openweb express uncapped.

Both the 384Kbit speed restriction and threshold half speed falls away after hours.

So for R999 a month you can get 384Kbit speed during day, 4mbit after hours.
or
if you reach ur threshold then,
192Kbit during day, 4mbit after hours.

Uncapped express is what most people should be on since who uses the internet excesively during the day, and you can still browse the web at 192Kbit.
 
Are you guys sure that the Openweb offer will run at full line speed after hours if you are syncing at more than 1Mbps?
 
Sigh...I had hope when I read the title. That fell away quickly when I read the OP.

yes, I never knew it would work, until I found out the 1mbit accounts can go full 4mbit, same as when Telkom sells you 1mbit with 4mbit trial.

I must say, I like the way MrBEEP takes our input seriously. Lets hope he can provide us with a cheaper more affordable uncapped solution without restrictions. Im looking forward to see what Openweb will have to offer :)
 
Nah, rather have a TRUE uncapped account with no restrictions for a whole month for R500p/m :) MrBEEP, provide us with some details :P
 
when is someone going to bring an uncapped local product to market? Or did that question already get asked? Surely an uncapped local account should be way cheaper than uncapped international?
 
Well i can use my Telkom 3gig for surfing and i can download all my big files at night with an afterhours uncapped account, then go back to my normal account in the morning. Lets just wait and see
