I am paying R297 for 50 gig at afrihost........ Am i paying to much. 1 meg line included.

put the AUP,with the gb's u can use b4 trotteling,next to the price
Well you can get 2mbs uncapped for around R360 line included. Line rental still R150
Not at all... Put them separately and you'll see you will end up paying more. Also remember in the new year, your line speed goes up...
I'm paying R375 for 50GB and 4mbps line... If I pay an extra R75 on top of that, I can get a 10mbps line...

Also keep in mind that mweb for example is R239 for 4mb, but R539 for 4mb premium......

Not at all. I'm sticking to capped accounts too...that way I know what I get to use every month.
Yes... lots of things to remember when dealing with internet and ISP's.
Another one to remember, Uncapped accounts get lower priority of the network than Capped accounts, so in some cases, Capped accounts are unshaped, and Uncapped accounts get semi-shaped/throttled. Yes, you really have to watch your usage with capped services, as purchasing top-up data can get costly...

They are the most expensive now. At those prices you would expect a superior connection but no. I recently cancelled my 4mbps Afrihost uncapped account because of the shaping and moved it over to Openweb 4mbps Gamers King Account. Much better and cheaper. Openweb does not shape after hours unlike Afrihost.

This really needs to be emphasized! It's the difference between 100GB/month and 300GB/month before getting throttled.

When I downgraded from 2Mb Premium uncapped to 4Mb Standard uncapped, I asked what the difference was between 'Premium' and 'Standard' is: 'Premium' has a soft cap of 200GB while 'Standard' has a soft cap of 70GB.
