Seriously though, if MrBeep said he phoned, im pretty sure 99.9% of the people on the myadsl forums believe him.

As for WickedWeasel, false advertising REALLY sucks man, our ADSL in south africa is bad enough without people trying to rip us off more...
 
Damn I hate it when stuff like this happens, someone just wanted info on a product/service, to make an inform choice on what to spend his/her hard earned money.

So from what I have read, Openweb has uncapped @ R1369 pm.
ODS has uncapped @ R1190 pm.(EXCLUDING VAT!)

No one has proof to support that they can offer 100% unshaped uncapped, MRBeep made it clear that they do not, and that he will not "Falsely advertise" the service, this is a technical matter from IS's side, at work we also use IS and we phoned and was informed that they cannot offer 100% unshaped uncapped, but they implement a very relaxed shaping policy.

I cannot speak for ODS, but for Openweb I have been with them since the beginning and they have always offered great innovative products at a very good price.

Then Ryuji, comes along and takes on MrBeep and Openweb personally, Dude get a live! You Obviously use ODS and thats fine, it is a free country, but hell son just relax, you can't just bash someone else, and then go about it as childish as you did.

Lets set this straight once and for all.

1. Business operate within certain "NDA's" etc. "So no, you are not going to find out anything by calling anyone."

Economics 101: Its called the competitive edge.

2. If you feel that that your account is not unshaped then please PM me and I will arrange a full credit for you.

3. What ever name I choose to use is my choice and just for interests sakes, why don’t you put in a www and then a com and the end of my name and see what site it takes you to.

4. This forum has become nothing then a place of bitching, no wonder Neotel and other companies will not make an appearance here.

So to summarize:

ODS is R12pm cheaper than OpenWeb's quoted price.
ODE is (maybe) unshaped. OpenWeb is (somewhat) shaped.
Although they are the same IS Express uncapped product.

A lot of OpenWeb Uncapped users are on specials. Recent specials I can think of are the R999pm @512k, and more recently the R1199pm @1024k.

And that is pretty much it. Service levels are not really tangible unless you are having problems. I would think in a competitive market like this, most ISPs would want to shine on support.

One thing that is apparent to me is that OpenWeb have a larger user base, which probably allows them greater flexibility on price due to economies of scale. Not sure if IS provides bulk discounting, but that might also be a factor.

Seems you have to take some risks to gain market share.

So, any specials in the pipeline, Mr Weasel?
 
if its all the same, how come some people ;) get 300 gigs a month on a local webafrica account, an some on other places get 30, but some people get allowed over for loyalty :) hmmm
 
We are working on some value adds. No specials at the moment.

1. They will include a gamming only proxy.

2. We are concluding a deal with a news server provider.

3. We will be launching a Skype Proxy service and soon include headsets.

Thats because we have to sell at such a low margin and offer Unshaped, Uncapped Accounts.

Hey it brings in more than ADSL will ever !. But the truth be told I dont.

Does this mean a newsserver only for ODS clients? For free? And if you not a client?
 
I have an idea..

MrBeep and WickedWeasel can be put to the test, the loser has to wear a see-trough g-string and shake their booty on Youtube for us.
