Uncapped ADSL

Its not a better offer.

Its exactly the same offer.

I can also launch Unshaped, Uncapped ADSL at 512k right now.

I can even price it at R999 per month including VAT (which is something I am seriously considering right now), but I will be taking a serious risk. Not on the price, but on the Unshaped part.

When IS's network starts filling up, automatic shaping kicks in across their ADSL network, less for Uncapped clients, but never the less its there.

ALL resellers are thrown into the exact same pool, as IS does not segment their network. To do this, it would cost them millions.

In conclusion, it is hardly likely that IS is going to pull out a few million to provide WickedWeasel 'with a better deal', when they can simply throw all resellers under one umbrella and pass the saving on to the client.

Thus, I will not lie about the product I sell.

It is NOT 100% unshaped. It is 100% Uncapped.

How can you explain the better offer then??

Well then lets see you launch it at R 999.

At the end of the day every ISP needs to make a profit, or what would the point be. Everyone needs to eat.

If Openweb wish to destory all the profits for themselves. Let them do so. ODS will maintain its pricing, and service offering. We cannot be the cheapest.

But what we can do is provide excellent service.

I'll still be making a profit.

And I think its called competition.....

lol. all i know is my connections is perfect without

openBrowse
openProxy
openDownload
openMozilla
openFaster

those brings to mind stuff like 386/FPU emulating software back in old days,
I just connect to what i want Directly without 'middle-man' software...

on a other note.

whats the point of 30G local if most local content providing places are
crap ???
its beyond me why would anyone try to stuck with IS news server when
its crappy and moan about it all the time when cleary things are not going to change with them

i still say if you want to have a 30-giga-local then provide a proper thing to go with it.

why not make it R899 p/m whats a R100 to that UGE profit of R999 p/m ??
or even better lets see your Financial Year results....

/me awaits OpenFinancialYear :P

and BTW cheaper isn't always better option
of pick n pay jeans was the best then everybody
would have had one and no one wearing Levi ;)

Interesting post.....

My 'UGE' profit...mmm.... Is that a new word?

And whom on this thread referred to:

OpenBrowse? 30GB local? The news servers?

Please refrain from derailing this thread.

Enjoying this, please continue.

As far as I hear Openweb will lanch the credit card facility in Feb.
What about ODS?

Ok, let me say again.

ODS is the only true Uncapped, Unshaped Provider on the forums, by the way, I am not the only one with the deal, there are 3 others.

We will not be going the Credit Card route, due to the high rate of Fraud that we have had with other products.

So if i were to phone up IS and somehow get through to someone that will be able to answer my questions, WOULD they say that yes, they have made special provisions for ODS to provide unshaped...?

huge then for those who can't make the connection that uge is Huge...

poor you, it's allready off track since the original started thread WAS:

From looking around, it seems there are two options to go for with uncapped ADSL (512k line).

The cheapest uncapped ADSL appears to be ODS at R1190 pm.

Judging by this forum, the best support is from OpenWeb at R1369 pm.

Are there any other viable choices besides these two?
Is OpenWebs support worth the R179 pm?

Edit: My mistake, didn't read the fine print. ODS quote you excluding vat. Nice of em.

and NOT

MrBEEP: I'll still be making a profit.

After calling IS, and investigating this claim, it was clearly stated that IS does NOT provide a different level of service to different resellers.

(Indeed I could've saved myself the call, because I knew this already.)

It was also added that all resellers share the exact same shaping policies.

Unless you provide evidence of your claim, you are participating in false advertising.

Excellent argument.

So well stated.

Superb choice of words.

Poor me.

If you PM me, I can give you the details of someone to call, independantly.
