Under The Dome

the episodes always end so kark! dammit. cant they just release them all together?:p only series we are actually waiting for currently. otherwise its whatever..

Oh what the hell. Let's address the story a little. What we know so far is that a dome came down.
A mentally challenged and immature child kidnapped his girlfriend and then went on to become a sheriff's deputy because fsck it, that's why.
He is the sheriffs son , thats why

All of the other men are inferior. A schit-for-brains reporter who never actually does anything a reporter might do, falls in love with the man who murdered her husband. But she's okay with it. But not. But she is. This riveting spectacle of bipolar disorder takes place over the course of one episode.
It was explained that the husband was in debt,Barbie lied saying that he left his wife because he was unstable or something, but he own debt so he payed with his life

The guy she falls in love with happens to be ex special forces and is an enforcer for a demented psychopath who is about as believable as the Easter Bunny. We don't see her until a few episodes in because the writers couldn't figure out any other way to introduce a twist. She was hiding. But watching. Sure sure.
I agree with the above statement, this new chick and her warehouse bar brawls was ridiculous

Big Jim desperately wants power. He gets it, but never really does to be honest. Until the last episode when he tries to hang the guy who's named after Ken's plastic fsck buddy. And nobody questions it. They'll question decisions about spaghetti from the diner, but not the hanging of someone. Because big Jim said so. After his one man kangaroo court.
Well thats how americans are in small towns i guess

The kids never know what to do, until it's convenient for them to just know it. They just guess and they're always right. There's a mini dome that does schit that's still not explained. There's a very smart butterfly that picks the leader of the town, as butterflies do. Was the butterfly symbolic? Perhaps symbolic of the fact that flapping your arms around with a pencil in your hand will often have disastrous consequences for a script.
The kids slowly figured it out but remember the dome did light up with hand prints to indicate that ppl need to put their hands on the mini dome.
I have a hard time figuring out why if the hot redhead(Monarch) was supposed to protect the egg, she ends up dropping it in the lake.Whether she is getting mind controlled by aliens, we dont know.

The new sheriff who was selected because she clearly gave the best blowjobs at the high school she recently dropped out of might as well be acted by a human shaped block of concrete.
The new sheriff was selected because she is the only cop left besides Junior

And her character is so immensely dense that they might have to make space on the periodic table for her initials.

And why didn't the kids warn her that she might, you know, die if she touched the dome? Were they secretly trying to do the show a favour and kill her off?
If you actually pay attention when you watching, you will know that the Sheriff chick wanted to take the dome away from them, thats why they let her touch it,so that they can hide it again ,while she is unconscious.

Oh, and aliens. We now have aliens, it appears. They only arrive to reveal plot twists that make you want to drive a sharpened shiv through your skull.
It didnt take me long to figure out that the dome isnt man made, leaving aliens to be the only explanation

And a whole 13 episodes to reveal... nothing. Nothing of importance. They left a cliffhanger the size of the very last step that trips you up while walking down them. And leaves you equally annoyed having actually done so. It is, quite possibly, the worst show on television, on all counts.
You want them to give away the whole story when the show has been renewed for another season?

My comments in bold above.

He is the sheriffs son , thats why

No, he's not. He's one of the town councillors' sons. The sheriff is dead and was replaced with an equally dead actress. But the point still stands. The kid is barely out of diapers, has clear emotional issues. Is immature. And is a raging lunatic. But nobody saw this at all. And they made him a deputy. It is just ridiculous...

It was explained that the husband was in debt,Barbie lied saying that he left his wife because he was unstable or something, but he own debt so he payed with his life

My comment had nothing to do with the back-story. Not sure what it is you think you're explaining to me. I put myself through it. I know the back-stories here. Unfortunately...

I agree with the above statement, this new chick and her warehouse bar brawls was ridiculous

And this is early in season 1. Irrelevant plot-points that serve no purpose to the story, apart from contributing towards big Jim turning to the dark side. There were a plethora of ways to do it that didn't involve him just murdering everyone and sundry, and certainly not involving new characters who were hiding out where nobody thought to look. On the other side of the lake. Where people lived before the dome came down. Ridiculous...

Well thats how americans are in small towns i guess

No, it's not. They're not nearly as moronic and manipulated as Stephen King consistently attempts to paint them in all of his novels...

I have a hard time figuring out why if the hot redhead(Monarch) was supposed to protect the egg, she ends up dropping it in the lake.Whether she is getting mind controlled by aliens, we dont know.

Oh that's just one of plenty wtf moments in the show that are neither explained, nor pre-emptively addressed. It's like watching the cast of Scooby Doo acting in Lost...

The new sheriff was selected because she is the only cop left besides Junior

How incredibly unbelievable is that story? Nothing about her and her position makes any sense. It is wholly absurd...

If you actually pay attention when you watching, you will know that the Sheriff chick wanted to take the dome away from them, thats why they let her touch it,so that they can hide it again ,while she is unconscious.

I don't buy that story at all. They didn't even attempt to explain their side of the story in any way. They just stood around and imitated the sheriff's dead-pan face at each other. It was so bad I felt like I was watching the future cast of Sharknado 2...

It didnt take me long to figure out that the dome isnt man made, leaving aliens to be the only explanation

The reveal is what I'm getting at. It was so contrived and stupid that it must have been a section they forgot to shoot, so borrowed some studio time from Supernatural and their writers' proteges to quickly put it all together...

You want them to give away the whole story when the show has been renewed for another season?

No, I want them to develop a story to the point where people can buy into it and follow it without having to roll their eyes so hard up their sockets they might never return to their normal positions...

Whoops i meant he was Big Jims son, sorry.

I mostly agree with you, its just that you review seemed written out of anger rather than being neutral and explaining like how you did the previous post.Anyways i think im going to pick up the book aswell because i cant wait another year for Season 2.

It wasn't anger. It was pure, unadulterated relief that the show was over...for me at least.

I stand by everything I wrote. It's a horrendous piece of clichéd drivel, written by morons, produced by accountants, and acted by amateurs...

I don’t know about this series, they seriously messed up season one. The executive producer also stated, "We'll get to go to some places that the book never got to go to."

I also want to quote this:

Under the Dome started with good critical buzz, but that quickly faded. Are you happy how the show ended creatively?

Sure. For me, my concern has always been, "Is one audience member in particular happy?" -- and that's Stephen King. He's been thrilled.

Well… what about the other audience members???

With the exception of Dean Norris. He's the only one who is somewhat decent given the material he has to work with...

Nope. Even he's terrible in it. It's as if he's intentionally over-acting everything...

This season has held my interest so far, and I will be waiting in anticipation for Season Two!
The series very highly rated and well written.
I haven't read the book, but if the measure of a show is to peak your interest in the book, then it's working.

The IMDB rating is skewed from the pilot. Read the reviews - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1553656/reviews?ref_=tt_urv

It takes 5 pages of reviews to find one positive...

I agree with you DJ... Lost interest long ago. It's all just a little too ridiculous, as you review explained in detail.

Yip 7.3 is way too high for this show, maybe a 5.0 and a cancellation at best. I enjoyed the Pilot but from there everything that made the book great was destroyed, mostly the fact that the producers were too scared to use the real characters and toned them down for the mass market. It only did well in ratings because there was nothing else airing at the time.

Its a good series on its own.The only reason many people are rating it low is because they are comparing it to the book.

Guys leave the book out of this,we get it already it was good now let it rest.

Kenn to see what happens next.
