Set in the not too distant future, Under the Dome tells the story of the residents of the small town of Chester's Mill, Maine who suddenly find themselves cut off from the rest of the world by a mysterious, impenetrable barrier that surrounds the town. As the town begins to tear itself apart through panic, a small group of people attempt to maintain peace and order while also trying to uncover the truth behind the barrier and how to escape from it.

I read the book long ago, was pretty awesome, hope they stick to the storyline properly.
 
Read the book last month. Cannot wait for this series. :)
 
Yeah I saw the trailer about a month ago or so, added it to sickbeard. Also interested to see this series, haven't read the books so however they do it, pretty sure I will enjoy it.
 
Some of the best characters ever created if you ask me. A first class read because of the skill of the author and his development of said characters and how the situation brings out the best and worst in the townsfolk.

Not so sure about seeing it on the screen though, it was Steven Kings writing that brought the dodgy storyline to life IMHO.

Very few of SK's books end up as good series or movies. Let's hope for another The Green Mile.
 
Saw it advertised on dstv tonight, can't remember the date though.
