Honestly dont mind... as it is now in gaming I wait at least a year before I play a game just to give them time to patch games up.

Also the added bonus of DLC GOTY pack/bundle's coming out a year after release, helps.

I love DK (and Sim City), but I find mixing other gametypes with the Dungeon Keeper gameplay loop is a bit meh.

For example in Dungeons, it has you digging underground for resources, then move upstairs to the overworld to fight RTS style. What happens then is that you have 2 separate games, instead of 1.

Sid Meier built a few such games back in the day, let's take for example Covert Action. Even though it was a great game he was disappointed with it in the end:
Sid Meier was reportedly dissatisfied with the final product, because he believed that the disparate elements of the game, however good they were individually, detracted from game play. As a result, he developed what he called the "Covert Action Rule": "It's better to have one good game than two great games."

The way he meant it is that if you have 2 great games in one, then players don't know which they're playing...or maybe they prefer only one, or get so distracted playing one that they forget to focus on the other as well.

So his idea is that it's better to have a single focused idea and execute that well.
 
^ I keep seeing The Expanse on these lists but not Telltale's other game Wolf Among Us 2 which is also coming in 2023 last time I checked. TWAU2 looks better imo and the first game was great.

I have myself invested thousands of hours in 1 and 2... Played the both the Alpha and MP builds of 3 - I must say I was suitably impressed - still needs some optimisation before release (the 23d) - but I am super excited about this one. Graphics (even in the open build play-tests) were a definite improvement - YouTube vids don't do it justice

Good to hear, would have loved to have tried the alpha, but im just glad the full release is coming soon. I'm a big RTS fan and Iron Harvest was the last game that kinda scratched that old school itch. Although it was rather mediocre imo.

Meh I don't care about reviews or what others say I should play or not etc. If a game looks good to me I play it.

Same with movies which is why I watched Matrix 4 despite all the warnings not to :ROFL:
