Upcoming Games

Why must they change their ways?

I don't mind exclusivity, as long as it isn't monopolised or held captive within one ecosystem. It is only recently that Sony engaged in re-release structures.

Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC. A game title now older than 3 years. Other titles have been mentioned to be re-released, but HZD has now become the 1st announced PS4 exclusive title to come to PC, and it is yet to come to PC.

Yes, Sony wants to sell hardware and their proprietary tech, but a 3-year hold on an exclusive is a long hold. PlayStation Now is still a hybrid.

I am saying that it is time to expand its ecosystem into the PC segment with shorter exclusivity lockdowns. It is simple consumerism.

Nintendo is like Sony, Sony is like Nintendo. MS has started to open up, embracing their cross-ecosystem.

2-years on a re-release is reasonable, 1-year on a re-release, in my opinion, is appropriate.

See the mess CoD were because Sony has worked exclusivity into the IP multiplayer modes, and then the PS users complain when they are matched against k+m when the exclusivity ends. They even have special multiplayer options to avoid k+m users which isn't on the Xbox version. This isn't a Sony published exclusive title. Just a schitty marketing arrangement.

I see not all countries will have access to the Trilogy combo. Don't know why, and the Mafia 1 remake (or Definitive Edition) is rather expensive separately, $40, but on Steam for South Africa it is R169 at the moment. I don't know whether it is a mistake because it is way cheaper than the CIS region when I last checked.

Mafia: Definitive Edition remake officially announced for August

A real pretty remake of Mafia is coming on August 28, 2K announced today. After accidentally blowing the surprise last week, they’ve now made Mafia: Definitive Edition official. As well as remaking the 2002 wiseguy ’em up, they’ve given the less-good 2010 sequel Mafia II a less-dramatic remastering, which is due to launch today as a free update. And Mafia III is getting its DLC thrown in for free. Together, they call this Mafia: Trilogy.

First game was sublime, second was great fun too. Never played the third...

Same here. Loved the first two but read too many negative things about 3 when it came out. Just slipped off my radar completely. Now's the perfect opportunity to try 3 but I still don't think I'll enjoy it much. Only really want the first remake tbh.

The first two are amazing and the third one is mediocre, you have to do a bunch of mindless tasks for an hour to get to one bit of story mission and then do it all over again.

I really enjoyed the third one, despite its faults. A lot of the issues initially were technical, which they've fixed.

I'v completed it already, but haven't done any of the DLC, so keen to jump back in.

Never got into the Mafia franchise until Mafia 3 was free on PSN+ a few months back. Loved it. Will defintely get this when it comes out.

At that price I can't not get it.

I wonder what the driving/vehicle physics will be like in the remake....

Mafia 1 had some of the best, most realistic driving physics of all time. Even today. Hope the remake doesn't feel boaty

It's going to feel like Mafia 3.
