Demogorgon from the Upsidedown, is that you?
I am the one living in reality.

You would take Eskom, where they think the common good is more important than the interests of private shareholders, over a solar plant run by a bunch of people who want to make money by selling electricity.

Wasnt anything close? What utter tripe.
Military dictator = forcing everyone to do what you want.
Free market adherent = only interacting with people based on voluntary cooperation. If you want someone to do something, you need to ask them to do it.

Take the mask issue as approached by these two parties:
Military dictator: wear a mask or you will be Floyd'd

Free market adherent:
Please can you wear a mask. If you don't wear one, I won't let you onto my private property.

No you're confusing free market and free society. The Chilean government under Pinochet was loaded with Chicago boys, do your research on them.

You cannot have a free society without a free market. If you are not free to sell your goods and labour at whatever price you want to whomever you, you are not living in a free society.

Milton Friedman said:
“A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.”

Bill Gates slams ‘shocking’ U.S. response to Covid-19 pandemic

In an interview with STAT, Gates sounded exasperated at times as he described the badly bungled launch of Covid-19 testing, the enlisting of a neuroradiologist — rather than an epidemiologist or infectious diseases specialist — to help guide the White House’s response decisions, and the recent move to discourage testing of people who have been in contact with a known case but who aren’t yet showing symptoms.

“You know, this has been a mismanaged situation every step of the way,” Gates said in the wide-ranging interview. “It’s shocking. It’s unbelievable — the fact that we would be among the worst in the world.”

He wasn't anything close to a free market adherent.

Chile was a weird case where there was a military dictatorship that endorsed some economic liberalisation. The military types usually think that you can run an economy in the same way you can run a military, by force. Which is why most military dictatorships choose some horrid variety of socialism.

Friedman called it a miracle. His "Chicago Boys" played out his textbook teachings.

Thats correct you cant have a free society without a free market. You can however have a free market without a free society.

Worst in the world? Really?

Also Bill proudly supports the WHO, who initially claimed no Human to human transmission despite being aware of this

Also the WHO.
“It’s really unfortunate how the WHO has led to all sorts of confusion.”

So Billy Boy should rather keep his mouth shut. Just more nothing news.

Nope. I gave you a lot of information a while back, which either you didn't read or conveniently forgot. Let me guess, wall of text, family, or some other excuse

I didn't get around to responding to it because tbh what's the point?

dont you think you are being a little, uhm, "dishonest" there ?

Even your own stats show US in 10th place of deaths per million and 11th place of cases per million.

“It’s shocking. It’s unbelievable — the fact that we would be among the worst in the world.”

Seems accurate to me. And per capita rates aren't adequate to give the full picture.

The US's failure to stop the spreading means that they have consistently produced the worst statistics in the world, over the last several months. They will be over 300,000 deaths by the time the election comes and over 400,000 by next year.

your claim was worst in the world - ie Number 1
not 10th or 11th

keppie is the one who said it's the worst in the world, which is a distortion of what Bill Gates said. I agree with Bill Gates. I think Brazil's response is worse; however I don't think comparing the US to Peru or Bolivia is entirely fair since those countries have a fraction of the wealth of the United States.

And also as I said, cases per capita do not tell an adequate story.
