Uptime: 0 days, 7:59:50

DSL Type: ITU-T G.993.2 Annex B (VDSL2)

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 5.118 / 22.526

Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/GB]: 194,95 / 1,34

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: -4,9 / 14,2

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 6,0 / 16,7

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 12,0 / 26,5

Looks like my line is syncing at 5Mbps up now, compared to the old 2Mbps

edit: wonder if it will increase some more

I'm so happy to realize that my upload speed is higher. Last Sunday uploading a youtube clip and saw it's showing about 38 min for a upload that normally takes 2 hours. Thought it was just showing wrong.

Now did another upload and it showed 38 mins again and then I only saw the upload speeds is 10Mbps.. Wow.. So nice. I'm very close to the MSAN, so I guess I could even get more if they allowed it.

Upload speed sync seems very interleave level dependent. People on my MSAN cap out at 79 and that gives us just below 9 mbps up sync. Wonder if I can speak to someone sensible to tweak it, probably not.

I think I am about 1.4km from the MSAN.

I use a TD-W8980 which I flashed to a TD-W9980 and using limited release UK SKY firmware. imo, the best VDSL modem out there due to the amazing quality it is giving me at the far end of the VDSL limits

Interesting setup. Not everybody can do that. IMHO and limited experience, TP-Link are the best cable modems :) You say you are at just under 1 Mile from the exchange but your modem indicates well over a Mile. Can you please have another look at your Downstream Line Attenuation? It was 26.5dB and AFAIK if it is more than 25dB you should not be able to sync at 40mbps. At over 28dB not even 20mbps can be achived. And at over 31dB your are just the same as with ADSL2+
Here is the "rule of thumb" (found out by myself for VDSL2)
Below 22dB up to 80mbps down.
22dB to 25dB up to 40mbps down.
25dB to 28dB up to 20mbps down.
28dB to 31dB up to 10mbps down.
SNR Margin will get you if you try to "push" the numbers.
Please help me fine tune my table :D
Measure the exact distance on GoogleEarth and take a few more looks at your stats. See if that 26.5dB was not on the high end on that occasion and usually it is nearer 25dB.
Oh, and TX for bothering to answer.
