No, I'm an atheist. Are you?
Just interested to find out why your humanitarian concerns lean so heavily toward the Muslims and against the Israelis. Just out of interest. That is all.

Well rats belong in tunnels.Actually this is what the tunnels are being used for mostly, what other option is there when you're in a prison/concentration camp.
Jews wont ethnic cleanse, that is the Arab's intention. Not the Jews.Well bees NOT = humans, and the "property" is not yours.
Unless you really ARE advocating a bit of genocide or "ethnic cleansing".
Could have fooled me.No, I'm an atheist. Are you?

probably because this perception is in fact a reality....is it a laager type thing, sympathy for a nation perceived to be surrounded by enemies?

Because they have had experience with being persecuted on all sides by neighbours and leaders who in reality want them dead.I still don't get why so many non-Jewish South Africans are so pro-Israel. Especially amongst Afrikaners - is it a laager type thing, sympathy for a nation perceived to be surrounded by enemies?
My grandparents were ripped off by a Jew and lost everything. My uncle's parents were ripped off by a Jew and lost everything. My mother's boyfriend's parents were ripped off by a Jew and lost everything.... and I have no reason to doubt any of their stories. There is absolutely no reason why I should be on Israel's side, except that it is the closest thing to the West that you will find in the Middle East. Sharia law, to me, sounds so scary that I would much rather support Israel. "Stone" me, I was born a "Westerner". Blame my parents, not me.I actually don't like either side. It's just that there is a weight of pro-Israeli posts and threads here ( started by a small group ), many of which are ill-informed and full of hatred and desires for violence. It's not a case of being pro-Israeli, but being anti the theology that is the motivating force behind the terrorist Hamarse - the same theology that promotes the destruction of not only the Israeli's but the west.

Well, I'm worried about Turkey now that the conservatives are getting more say...Have you been to Turkey? Dubai? Lebanon? plenty of places to 'Jol'.
More wise words from the Anti-Muslim cleric.

I don't expect any of those countries to cater to my "Western" tastes. Why should they? Just don't expect me to start saying that I'm ashamed of being a Westerner. There are some hypocrites that would claim to be ashamed of their heritage, but I cannot.
Turkey is changing things to get into the EU (as promised by Bush). Once in, it will become Sharia very quickly. Many westerners in those countries have no sense of shame that you speak of, I've been to Turkey and Israel... guess what country felt more European to me? Turkey! the views are spectacular, cities clean and young enthusiastic people all around.
Oh yes... if by 'western tastes' you mean Mcdonalds? it's there in many middle eastern countries.

This was before the EU appeals, your prejudice is ignorance.
Ja, maybe it is an underdog thing. The Jews were persecuted during the holocaust and I think they deserve a fair break in making a home and nation for themselves without everybody wishing them dead and exterminated. I have no particular preference for the Jews over the Palestinians other than I despise terrorism and the murder of innocents which many radical Muslims espouse.
