32 bit versions of software work on 64 bit operating systems. They just don't have the optimisations that you'd get from a 64 bit build.

My VLC runs on 64 bit win 7, but my scaling is broken when watching a video fullscreen (it gets all pixelated). The same video works fine in other players. I hope they fixed this issue. I'm not the only one complaining about it.
 
Can anyone confirm whether there is a browser plugin that allows you to stream stuff? There was one in 0.8.x versions, but with 0.9.x there wasn't one.

Same problem here. Have changed to GOM player. Light and free and works fine :)
 
Well I downloaded it yesterday hoping in vain that the pause stutter problem was resolved. For regular DivX videos it's mostly fine, but stutters badly when pausing HD video. I'll stick to MPC HC and WMP12.
 
VLC is losing ground to GOM and KMPlayer. Even WMP11 is becoming a worthwhile video suite.
 
I finally got that pixelated video fixed. Go to video preferences > and I changed the output to OpenGL video output...(DirectX works too, but changes it to windows 7 basic theme[no aero])
Saying that, i got so irritated with VLC that I changed to KMplayer and still using it.

I'd also give the Combined Community Codec Pack a try, it comes with Media Player Classic Home Cinema and all the codecs you would ever need. It replaced Klite on my PC.

CCCP codec pack ;)

It even has Chiyo-chan in it! :)
 
CCCP is an old abbreviation for the Russian Federation. So it would get a bit confusing.
