Ok.. good news is........

I get to pay it off over 6 months...

Ok.. not quite...

substantial reduction in billing and trying to work out exactly where things went wrong and mitigation steps to be placed to avoid similar occurrences in future...

Do they at least pay for your drinks you had today to calm down your nerves ?

Nice one Vodacom - excellent to see this goodwill gesture!

OP, thankfully you not dealing with Autopage, the process would have aged you considerably quicker.

Force a router reboot every 1 hour?

Excellent to see VC willing to make amends. R320k is not a trifling amount...

Looking into it now, if this was a continuous connection there is no way of stopping the line as the billing system will not update until the internet connection is terminated.
Conflicting with:
It definitely wasn't a single session. Modem was configured to reboot every 24hrs and the DVR too was set to reboot every 24 hours, worst case, a session lasted for 24 hours. I only have seen the itemised billing which shows one cumulative figure for the 24 hour period and an amount (Ranging from R2k - R5k per day)

Hi Guys

You get companies that can manage your sim cards using prepaid data. They can auto update the data once your bundle runs and also cut you of at a certain amount. Another benefit is it will not load another bundle if the one has not been depleted so you save money as well if you are not using the bandwidth for that month.

Conflicting with:

Not conflicting at all it was an assumption as we did not have much info to go buy hence me saying "Looking into it now, if this was a continuous connection ". That usage could of been racked up in the 24hr cycle i don't know i just plead/motivate your case to the creditor`s.

Thanks Lib

Nice work Vodacom! This is fantastic to see.

Just helped me make my mind up to stick with you instead of porting away next month.

I'm sure others are going to read this and do the same :)

Pity VC can't do the same as AfriHost and offer data-only on a specific AP, which can be hardcapped.

Surely this will be more useful to people like MangoMan...

Wondered who was left here from Vodacom, I almost thought all their reps left.
Good job to VodacomData. 90% down, still 10% (R21 300 by my calculations) to go. :whistling:
