An investigation by Analytico has revealed that data disappears from Cell C SIMs connected to a 4G network even when mobile data is disabled.

Analytico performed separate tests for disappearing airtime and data with SIMs from all four major network operators in South Africa.

From a signalling standpoint, thats pretty impressive.

So now switch all those phones to only use 2G/3G networks, and then see if it persists. If the device itself is being prevented from using 4G and it still loses data, then you know that Cell C is in fact purposely decreasing subscriber data in an effort to force them to buy more data, which is in line with how Blue Label does business.
