Vodacom: Handset not ringing

A few people I know also complains about this, when someone is calling from either a mobile phone or telkom line to our cellphones the calling party can hear it rings on their handset, however, the handset of the called party never rings, and just goes to voicemail. There is no call waiting, barring or forwarding set up. Even disabled going to voicemail.

Yup i do, then i get an sms 2 minutes later saying i missed a call.

Turn up the volume so you can hear it ringing.

Network issue.. had this too, they never could fix it, so I ported away from their network...

Have you tested it yourself?

Call your number from a cell-phone, try multiple networks if possible, then try calling from a land-line, again using different networks including VOIP services. See if you experience the problem yourself and hopefully isolate it to a particular network or service.

I would suggest you log the fault with the Vodacom helpdesk anyway.

We have had the same issue the last few days with my mothers' cellphone.
It is a Nokia 220, and even my 81 year old mother can use it easily.
My father is in hospital, and we have been trying unsuccessfully to get hold of her.
She sees missed calls, and calls back, but the phone hardly ever rings on her side.

Oth the 8-9 calls I attempted today, only 1 was answered.
The other times the phone rings on my side until it goes to voicemail, but nothing happens on her side.

We use CellC and Telkom landlines, and calls to her Vodacom number don't register on her side.

Happens often. Also when I have half signal, calls will not come in or go out. "Network Unavailable".
