Was bound to happen, everything else is going up, Electricity, Fuel, Food, cars, medical aid why not cellphones... Eish!

The bad thing is that salaries rarely do and pensions and if they do, it doesn't cover the other increases.

Oh I'm sorry, are we being "difficult"? Should we all just bend over and take it? Just ignore Vodacon's patently illegal contracts, which people signed, but not willingly. They're a cartel, and cartels need to be regulated. Of course ICASA is as scared of Vodacon's lawyers as the NCC is, so they regulate ****.

I'm so sorry to hear about the people that forced you at gun point to sign a contract with Vodacom.

Im sure theyve done their homework.

They should stop calling it increases, rather call it inflation adjustments, thats all it is.

On 1 May 2015, Vodacom will be increasing subscriptions on selected price plans. Your uChoose Flexi 100 monthly subscription will increase from R99 to R110 and you will get R110 airtime per month. Your price plan name will be uChoose Flexi 110. Please note your terms and conditions remain the same

Seems they will give you more "value"? This just shows they are just doing it for greed. They want more revenue while giving you something that costs them little to give.

This looks to me like they are aiming to recoup increased operational costs due to loadshedding. They must burn through hundreds of thousands of rands in fuel when loadshedding occurs around the country. Same thing will begin to happen with groceries. Checkers has already given a multi million rand diesel figure they have to spend per month.

Yeah, because we've got all the choice in the world. I'm surprised you haven't suggested each building our own personal GSM network, I mean, we've all got billions in the bank and excess spectrum. Vodacon was give scare national resources, and they've abused their monopoly/duopoly/cartel. End of story.

Im sure theyve done their homework.

Their homework consisted of keeping the NCC otherwise occupied. Nobody's got the resources to sue them, so their abuse goes unchecked.

No power.
No Jezza.
No paybackthemoney.
No German flights.

Now thanx to VC, no money.

So I received 2 emails from Vodacom less than an hour ago about the price changes. Thought it was some sort of scam, now I have to pay an extra R30 for both contracts. I can feel the amount burning my pocket.

Dick move, VC. I was also under the impression that contract pricing was locked in. Will definitely not be renewing in July.

Then stop supporting them with your wallet. That's what I did, as far as possible. It started with going onto prepaid and not getting another contract. I don't want to be tied to one of these schitty companies for 24 months at a time.

Guess my mother will not renew her data contract on her laptop expiring in about 4 months, will get her one of those Telkom 1GB per month internet starter packs for R499. Suck that Vodacom!

Oh, I already have. Contracts are for suckers, but that doesn't make their actions any more legal.

I'm defining and writing my complaint to the NCC tonight. The justification for the increase is not justified if you looking at their financial statements.

So everyone on contract pay more, besides the fact it is in writing for 24 Months?
What a joke.

HAHAHA, finally an increase that I'm happy about. This one won't affect me anymore. Glad I cancelled my contract and switched to Telkom. No contracts for me again
