Vodacom increasing prices

HAHAHA, finally an increase that I'm happy about. This one won't affect me anymore. Glad I cancelled my contract and switched to Telkom. No contracts for me again
Don't Telkom have problems with signal etc & how does one find out comparison tariffs to other SP'S?

As long as prepaid is fine. I can't find a contract that suits me so I'm ditching the contract altogether. I don't want ****ing data, talk minutes and SMSes. I want airtime like I used to get for the past 6 years.

You still use airtime on prepaid? I just use my mifi device and data and whatsapp/skype to call.

I'm on a contract. Been on TopUp100 for the past 6 years, but now it seems they suddenly don't offer contracts like that. Everything just has minutes, SMSes and data, no airtime. I want airtime, not this other kark.

Nice, thanks. Figures that people on an internet forum would be more knowledgeable than vodacom sales reps. I went to the two vodashops in Stellenbosch at the start of the year and they told me you don't really get contracts that give airtime anymore.

The other stunt they pulled is with my BIS. Got an SMS last month telling me they hope I enjoyed BIS and that it expired on my contract, yet Vodacom still charged me. Will see if they charge again this month and then I'll go give them hell.

Not surprised lots of reps are useless these days, I use a certain vodacom store as they more in touch with their work than the ones in my town :p.

7 months left on contract. I like Vodacom but the fact that they can force a price increase on a contract I signed with them worries me.

Maybe prepaid is the way to go. This is seriously fscked up and I cannot believe it is legal even if their T&Cs says so.

I think Vodacom only pulled this stunt because they saw Cellc took the first step and now they can justify also increasing prices saying the rand is weak and blah blah blah.

I'm shocked because this means it is simply a matter of time before MTN and Telkom would follow. I mean why wouldn't they? It is free extra money and people can't do nothing about it.

I always though stuff that always would decrease in price is Technology because it is ever evolving and getting better for less but in SA it works the opposite way.

DSTV goes up
ADSL goes up
Now Calling cost go up too

These are things that are supposed to be decreasing to attract customers.....

I was reading these posts and also started getting indignant. Then I went to the article and saw the price "increases". Are you guys kidding me?? Threatening "class action" over R10, R20, R30 and max R40 per month increases?

Jirre please...

If you have 12 months still left.
30 x 12 = R360 less for Christmas.

and you cannot say no, well not in SA anyways.

I disagree, the upgrade quote I signed with them (which specified quite a bit) says nothing about this. It doesn't even mention that there are other terms and conditions that could apply. Would I have a leg to stand on?

Legally, in order to enforce this, every subscriber would have had to initial the page in question that states this increase is T&C'ed. If they can't prove you signed it, they can't enforce it.
