I have a vodacom contract and usually purchase once off bundles. A few months ago I started buying 5Gb once off bundles which together with the night owl data lasts me 2 months.

I purchased a 5Gb once off data bundle on the 3rd of May. I never received any night owl data and noticed the normal 5Gb data is only valid for 30 days.

I called in to vodacom customer care and was told the night owl is only valid for month to month bundles.

Anyone have any news on this?

Late reply I know, but I have the same issue with their data bundles now. I used to be able to buy a 1GB bundle and it will last me until the end of next month. But they made changes apparently and when I loaded a bundle yesterday it showed it was only valid for 30 days now. Which is crap, because they are now forcing you to take the month-to-month bundles, which inflates your account and they score all the way.

If Cpn Justice were correct, you should lay a charge at your local police station, because in SA theft is still a crime.

But he's mistaken. That route will go nowhere.

Why not read through your contract and take the matter up with Vodacom. No party can unilaterally and with impunity change terms in a contract. So check your facts and then pursue the matter to resolution.

NO, NO! Arthur missing the point (again). You need to lay a complaint at the National Consumer Commission (NCC) or ICASA.

Theft of data bundle is in violation of S63(2) of the CPA.

I have tweeted them about this and as soon as I mention the data bundle expiry changing to 1 month they go verrry verry quite.

I have a different problem. I have a WiFi router with them on contract and I needed to topup the data with 500mb today, but the Android app (MyVodacom) tells me I don't have airtime to do that

Is this on a voice or data contract?
