Vodacom Unrestricted APN

Hi All

After many many phone calls to the Vodacom call centre and a visit to their customer care centre I am about ready to give up.

We have been granted an unrestricted APN for the office connection so we can access the security cameras through an open port that would normally be closed. We have a ZTE router (MF253) and I suspect that is where the problem may lie. It seems that the router is hard coded to use the internet APN name and will not allow us to change it to unrestricted. We have tried everything including a replaced router.

Does anyone have some advice other than replacing the router for another brand that may not be hard coded?

Thanks

Jono

Jono,

Did you ever get this working?

When I change the modem (ZTE MF253) from auto apn (lte.vodacom) to Manual, and setup the unrestricted apn details, it will default back to the Auto values when clicking apply.

I'm not sure how to solve this.

Thanks

I think I know... I am using MF283 which is mostly the same.
All you have to do is to create new profile, name it, fill it up and save as default profile.

Make sure you disconnect the router before changing the APN settings.
