Okay so after 2 days of router reboots, router resets and a call to Vox here I am on the MyBroadband forum trying to find a fix or a answer to my issue, router is not from Vox using a Linksys WRT ACM3200.
Issue started on Tuesday evening whereby playing Rocket League on my Playstation my Playstation Network account signed out and kept reconnecting and disconnecting to PSN servers (Playstation is connected via LAN).
I ran a test and the below were my results based on multiple tries:
- Obtain IP Address: Successful
- Internet Connection: Successful (sometimes failed)
- Playstation Network sign in: Failed (sometimes successful)
- NAT Type: Type 2 (Failed majority of the tests)
After this I thought okay perhaps it's a router issue so I turned off my port forwarding on my router and removed my static DNS of 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. The issue continued to persist throughout the evening. So router and ONT reboot it was, alas the issue continued. I did also note during this time my iPhone was having issues updating apps and even downloading from Apple Music.
Phoned Vox, the line was checked, there wasn't any issues the person on the line was extremely helpful and tried all settings with me before I said I'd try a complete router reset. So that's what I did, reset the router completely no configurations, no specific Wi-Fi channels or bands set, all stock settings (this was done twice). Router reboots done more than 4 times.
But alas the issue persists till now. I have no idea how to fix it or what the issue is. I have summarised a list of issues I've noticed.
- PSN Servers disconnecting or not connecting at all
- Netflix buffering randomly
- Logging into banking app taking much longer than usual
- Googling things at random on laptop or phone take extremely long to load but upon refresh the page loads instantly
- Amazon Video struggles to load on any device
- Connection to work VPN takes extremely longer than usual
I am unsure if this is a Vox issue or an Openserve issue and I am unsure how to rule out one or the other. If anyone on Openserve can maybe add in here if they are experiencing similar issues.
Edit:
Tested Rocket League today on my Steamdeck and I have issues connecting to Epic Servers on there as well. I did a hotspot on my phone, connected the PS5 and Steamdeck, all connections to Epic and PSN work perfectly without issues.
