Vox Telecom Fatpipe

There were some issues a few months back on the Cape Town IPC. It affected the bolt on guys quite badly. But in general things run well in JHB.

Yeh, I've used Vox for almost 2 years off and on.
I've never had an issue in the slightest.
I've now been with 5 different ISP and can safely say that Vox is the best product I have tried.

Can't argue there, except for the times the IPC gets congested (high pings), but they seem to sort that out a lot quicker than some other ISP.

This is my last month after a year, I got tired of the random capping (didn't use my account for 3 months so had 150GB available), last month I was capped after using 100GB.

I'll stick with IS for now, as I don't need internet during the day.

Nor do I.

I download quite a lot and I've never been throttled. Only issues I have is exchange related. Pretty sure 99% of the people here have the same issues, but it's always easier to blame the ISP.

Are you talking about torrents?

not sure if this should be in this thread but Vox changed pricing on their 20Mbs lines to R410 from R342

Torrents dl sucks today. Even openweb better torrent dl today. Max my 20meg line with openweb uncapped. Thought the fat pipe suppose to be unshaped?

either your torrents are badly seeded or your line is rip, try with another ISP?

Well that's pretty much impossible..

That sucks. My line is with them And I haven't received a notification of the price change so I hope it's only for new subscribers and not existing.

Probably only for new subscribers but I haven't gotten a reply to my ticket as yet

Let me explain, fat pipe account torrents dl avg 200kbps. Switched to my openweb account and it maxed my 20 meg line after 2mins. Im not an openweb fan at all. But vox is definitely throttling torrents on my account.

IPC is nearing capacity most probably.

Most likely, hope it gets resolved soon though. Still have 2TB data left on my VOX accounts. Cancelled both Telkom and openweb uncapped accounts to save money. Both accounts will terminate end of this month.

I'm averaging 380KB/s using P2P, and I'm only on a 4Mb line, so that's pretty much maxing out.

Yes, there isn't an issue on the Cape Town IPC, only JHB (Durban runs off JHB) during office hours between 8am-5pm is there torrent shaping.

Yes and News servers. I also stream Hulu on my TV and watch Youtube etc etc.

Yea, news and everything else is fine, just torrents seem to be shaped.

Busy got one going now at 50kB on a 10mb line. Come 5pm and it gets released up to full speed.

Sure sign the IPC is nearing capacity.
