Vox Telecom Fatpipe

What is the bolt on all about?

It's basically an uncapped account but only active between 6pm and 6am on weekdays and all weekend. So Friday evening 6pm till 6am Monday morning and everyday during the week from 6pm to 6am.

Between 6am and 6pm your data usage would come off the 25gb but after 6pm it's all unlimited.

I did around 350gb last month and over 400gb in September.

Wow that seems like a top deal that. I'll certainly look into that. So the missus can use during the day from the 25GB.

In all honesty Sandman, we only stream, so this might be a good deal for us?

Yeah, bolt-on is outstanding. Bear in mind R148 excludes line rental. Also ordering bolt-on cannot be done online.

You can create an account and purchase fat pipe lite online but you then need to email a request through to Vox to activate bolt-on.

Bolt-on isn't and has never been a product they've aggressively promoted. It's a bit of a loss leader.

Seems messy lol

Depends i guess. I sent a inquiry email asking about it and a VOX representative called me and sent me via email the paperwork. I completed the paperwork online and emailed him back. Later that day I had my 25GB + bolt-on account activated. All in one day.

Not saying the process isn't messy, but just seems quite a bit to do to get it activated.

I like the way Afrihost does it with Client zone, so I'm a bit surprised that Vox takes this particular route to get users activated.

Agreed. Afrihost has probably the best web interface in the business. Incredibly user friendly. Vox is nightmarish by comparison but having said that, it's still doable.

Get Fatpipe here

Once done send an email to [email protected] requesting bolt-on.

Yeh, I'm using their 10GB + 10GB data for R49 on Afrihost, just as an add on. When I used client zone to sign up for it, I immediately got my invoice, and that was that.

I also dropped my mobile package from 1GB to 500mb, and again, package changed immediately, as of the new month. If they can sort out their issues, I'll probably stay, but to be fair, im having no issues with them.

I'll sign up with Vox for a month, and see how the process goes, and if its not much of a hassle, I'll think of staying permanently. I don't want to be stuck without internet, if there is nobody to handle my request, if I send by email. That's why Afrihost portal is pretty good, and I'm happy with that.

I think Fatpipe lite is the base from which one can build.

So you get 25gb for R89 and I think every gig after that is charged at R5 per gig.

I take it you looking at these packages for clients?

No, but the mistake is understandable.

A few of us got frustrated last week with the fact that the Vox web site doesn't give the price for Fatpipe Lite and we kept getting different answers from Vox so Chris (cvanwie) escalated it to product management and someone else also chipped in who had just bought top-up data on both Fatpipe and Fatpipe Lite and we finally got clarification.

The R5 per GB is the price for a Fatpipe top-up data. The price for Fatpipe Lite top-up data is double, i.e. R10 per GB.

Thanks for clarifying!

Sheesh, R10 for a GB of data? Is that for real?

Yeah, but top up gigs are generally costly.

What happened to my data from previous months? It's all gone.

Give it a day or 2. The accounts usually take a day or 2 to update.

Have concurrent connections been turned off? As of today I am unable to connect, while another person sharing my Vox account is still online with the account.

EDIT: At this point I think it is Telkom to blame, as I cannot connect with any account.

EDIT 2: Most definitely an issue with Telscum/Hellkom/Thiefkom/Suggestions welcome.

What info do they want?

I just signed into my account details. Seems that we all got a new 'dashboard'. Still no data carryover though (lost 200gb's) !!

As I said earlier, it will probably be fixed tomorrow when everyone is back at work, you didn't "lose" anything.

Same thing happened to me!

Nice new dash but no carry over showing and not to sound ungrateful but what happened to the free uncapped midnight data. Got nothing in October.

Just to confirm:
