Vodacom and MTN tested in Pofadder — and the winner is clear

MyBroadband Insights recently tested the mobile network quality in several smaller towns in the Northern Cape while en route to larger cities for its quarterly drive testing.

Network coverage and data throughput tests are conducted using the MyBroadband Speed Test App, running on Android smartphones.

I remember the days when vodacom had a fast network lol
Those where the days…

What actually happened to Vodacom? Almost as if around the time Pieter Uys and Allan Knott left the whole place started imploding.

From Hero to Zero with Shameel at the controls it seems?

They invested in fibre, loyal vodacom clients will never leave so they dont have to worry :)

Moved to MTN network became unbearable in GP.

Similar story to 2011 Michael Jordaan FNB and current Jacques cilliers FNB.
Crazy how styles can change a company culture.

Yeah, MTN network is solid, have had a very good experience since my switch from Vodacom.

Only issue is load-shedding..

Pofadder sounds like Puff adder and the way I fear that reptile.

Was there 2 weeks ago, wife had to send files via we transfer over voda, eventually I stopped, enable hotspot on my mtn phone, and within a few minutes it was done. We stopped in pofadder to send a file. Then she tried the second one, so in Sprinkbok I did the hotspot thing . We slept near Clan william too, there was zero vodacom, just mtn. I was surprize that I had more coverage on mtn than voda, nevermind speed.
