Morning Guys,
Could you PM me your customer codes so I can take a look into your issues and escalate if necessary.
PM sent have not heard anything back. Cancelled my account yesterday. Poor service even poorer excuses. GTA updates, right....
It is insulting that WA would feed this to their customers.
I have today opened an account at Afrihost after being with WebAfrica since 2005. I have given a month notice as is expected but have still been invoiced for the month of October. Is there anything else that still has to be done?
Hi Gimmemore,
When did you submit the cancellation? We require a full calender months notice for all cancellations as per our terms. So if you submitted it in this month then it will only be cancelled at the end of October 2013.
Hi xxx,
Thank you for your email
We can arrange to have the data canceled at the end of September and have the line transferred back to Telkom. Please advise if we should schedule this cancellation for end September?
Thanking you kindly

Mail received from WA on 27 August 2013 after logging call to cancel service:
I have however still been invoiced in full for October.
I still remember the "good old days" when WA would immediately cancel an account if the customer was unhappy and refund you the pro-rata amount. Imagine my disappointment when I learned of the calender month's notice when I tried to cancel my account yesterday.
I'm also a longtime WA user, but like Gimmemore I am switching to Afrihost in the hope of being able to browse the Internet at anytime of the day, not just in the evenings.
Hi Justin,
Any idea if and when WebAfrica will drop prices again? I'm on the Red deal for R199/30gb (I see currently R199 only gets you 15gb anytime), but we need more data. I see AH has 50gb for R199. Have been relatively happy with WA sofar but the AH price makes me want to jump ship.
Any comments?
@WAJustinW: Is there any chance in the future that WA would consider extending the Download Plus hours over weekends by say four hours from 8PM (previous evening) to 6AM the following morning?

Morning Gimmemore,
I have asked our ADSL manager to take a look into why your account and I will revert back with feedback shortly.
Last night my webafrica account was useless, tried to download a 120MB file from sourceforge, at 20KB/s.
Over a line that syncs at 8039k
Entered a backup account at MWeb, download runs at 560KB/s.
What is going on?
