Web Africa Home Uncapped Feedback

Alright, so the WA news server is pretty good. Not really much of a need to get a premium account, awesome! So the speeds are generally full, even if the content is not cached?

I am assuming it still contributes towards your normal cap and not the DL+ ?

Speeds are good anytime assuming you arent throttled.

Sorry. Meant deprioritised

Morning guys,

Retention on our news server is 140 days :) Content is usually cached pretty quickly too.
5 Connections allowed
No SSL
Port 119

And you're all set.

@HavocXphere: Can you pop up some details here about the IP's for me please?

Not sure if you have answered this or not, but will we ever be getting freezone back?

We can't be sure at this stage. However because our Uncapped offering is still fairly new we may consider including FreeZone again.

It's early days for the product, and I'm sure there'll be tweaks and improvements ahead, so I'll certainly take this under consideration :) We always want to give our users the absolute best we can.

WAJeff, is it normal for your service/sales/helpdesk consultants to call folk up if they've been given a "bad rating" and spend five minutes asking you in six different ways if they can change it?

What's the point of the happy/neutral/annoyed faces if you're just going to end up getting emotionally blackmailed for it?

My WebAfrica uncapped account is a bit bouncy today. My capped one is smooth. Any issues?

WA news server is broken again....... Happens so often that I hardly ever use it anymore because when I do try it never works

Edit: I see someone is monitoring the forums. It started working again

I'm throttled so during the day I get a max speed of 125kb/s and if I do not disconnect 00:00 and reconnect no matter what I do it stays on 125kb/s. But if you disconnect and reconnect in download plus hours the connection speed shoots up to 435kb/s

Why is this cause it supposed to automatically remove the throttling during these times... Every night I download from 00:00 to 06:30 only about 3GB. Now that is quite poor for a 4mb uncapped.

This definitely isn't a standard practise.
I'm aware that some agents do call and follow up as some customers do rate the tickets incorrectly - but it shouldn't turn into a nagging phone call from us to beg you to change the rating.

Please drop me a PM with your client code and I'll have things followed up on with our Management Team.

@Lycanthrope: Rupert sent me your details, we're busy looking at this for you.

No worries, glad it's being looked at!

Just a heads up guys, we've scheduled network maintenance for Sunday, 19th Feb.
Date: 19th February 2012
Time: 21:00 - 22:00
Attending: Network Engineers

Impact: Static Business Uncapped users may experience intermittent connectivity during the maintenance window.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

This won't affect Home Uncapped users, only the Business Uncapped accounts which have static IP's allocated to them.
More updates/ feedback on this can be viewed on our forums http://forums.webafrica.co.za/showthread.php/7371-ZA-Network-Maintenance

Anyone else ever received a cancellation warning notice?

Hi

Please note that you have exceeded your 7 day rolling window usage for account: account@wadsl and may experience slower speeds as a result of this.

We recommend that you reduce your usage as specified in our Home Uncapped Q&A to restore your speeds.

If this is not possible, we recommend you upgrade to one of our Business Uncapped services immediately.

Don’t forget you can monitor all usage through your DSL Console

Please note that continued or excessive abuse of our service may result in service termination, in terms of our Home Uncapped Acceptable Usage Policy

Please call us on 086 000 9500 or email us on [email protected] if you have any queries.

Thanking you in advance,

Web Africa
