Thank you for the reply, however that has not actually answered my question. Allow me to rephrase it.
I am not interested in moving my ADSL rental away from Telkom to Web Africa. The reason for this, I can swap and choose any ISP at any moment, if I need the line repaired I can cut out the middle man and go straight to Telkom to have any issues sorted out. Until LLU happens I will not be moving my ADSL line away from Telkom.
Now that I have explained that, allow me to continue.
I will be using Afrihost for the rest of my calculations, I see you assume I only use 3GB of international internet a month, however a month it can range any where from 10GB to 30GB depending on my overall usage pattern for that month.
10GB Price:
Web Africa: R490+R157 (line)=R647 per a month.
Afrihost: R290+R157 (line)=R447 (Now that is assuming that it costs R29 per a gig, which will remain as long as I stay on my current package with them.
Price Difference= R200
Or with Afrihost's topup special of R14.50 per a gig I end up with the following calucation (granted doesn't happen all the time but quite reguarly)
R145+R157 (line) =R302
Price Difference between Web Africa and Afrihost in this case is R345.
DSL console for monitoring usage- I get that with Afrihost
Prepaid topups never expire-At R14-50/R29 per a gig at Afrihost I don't mind if it does.
Having 1 monthly account for line and bandwidth- I don't want that!
24/7 dedicated adsl support- I don't need that, not to mention Afrihost does have ADSL support if needed.
Auto top ups-Afrihost has it as well.
Sms notifications-Afrihost has that as well.
DSL Secure-I am not worried about needed that, as no one else has my user information and I have taken steps to prevent compromise from happening.
FreeZone-Not interested in online gaming
Steam Content Server (going live soon)- I don't use steam.
Reliable network-Never had a problem with Telkom and Afrihost in this regard.
No contract periods-No contract with Afrihost either.
Free Gaming Service-If it is free then why is the price included in your GB prices? (again I don't need/want this)
Taking all of this into account what advantage does Web Africa have for me, at your current prices?
@ Linoman,
Let's assume you are on a 3GB package, at 29* per GB = R87 +152 for your line = R239 per month * remember this is a special rate
Our combination offer works out to R249. This is not a special, this is our standard pricing.
That is only a R10 difference in reality.
As for the advantages of being with Web Africa:
DSL console for monitoring usage
Prepaid topups never expire
Having 1 monthly account for line and bandwidth
24/7 dedicated adsl support
Auto top ups
Sms notifications
DSL Secure
FreeZone
Steam Content Server (going live soon)
Reliable network
No contract periods
Free Gaming Service
Hope this answers your question.
People can keep choosing to ignore the line cost, but it is real and we do compete well when all costs are factored in.
