This international line is not doing well this morning. Ping of 284 and download of 1.8 to London. :(

Latency is definitely looking higher today (+30-50ms)- I’ve sent a follow up to Transit providers in this regard, seeing it across a range of paths so definitely something on EASSy.. But speeds seem alright. Any particular destinations you want us to check (servers)?

Runescape.com I actually hosted a boss mass last night with extreme lagg and somehow still managed to out dps the people from the uk and get all the drops with a ping of 280. I have no idea how, haha and thank you for the response.

I’m sure once Voda gets their WACS capacity back we should be good there. Vox will be the same here- peering traffic and considered local.

Your Coreix result is significantly slower than my test at the office, which is concerning. Will only be able to test a Vumatel line on the Bryanston Master Node (which you connect to) later this afternoon to see if I get similar results. Will keep you posted.

As mentioned above, please don't use Vox or Vodafone as benchmarks, these are peering traffic (basically their own networks provide transit on these) and out of our hands. That being said, higher latencies are definitely an issue today (definitely an EASSy issue). Higher latencies seem to be leading to highly degraded performance. We've tried a server on our end with a solid TCP stack and speeds seem normal - and (for now) seeing little evidence of packet loss on Vumatel. Testing at home on a 1G, I'm getting anything from a few mbps on a windows laptop (over WiFi) to about 60-70 Mbps on a Mac, which is a clear indication that different TCP stacks do help at these highly elevated latencies. I would suggest testing a tool like TCP Optimiser to assist today.

We are doing everything we can to get an answer on these higher latencies.
