Sign up with GoogleThanks they have been in touch. So the vumatel speed test to the handover is good at 965Mbps. So when I run a local speed test things are OK-ish.. Funnily enough the websquad durban server for me is slowest, acting very wierd and get about 500Mbps local. If I select Mweb I get about 800Mbps..thats checking now at 18:20. If I speed check to COREIX - London that is better getting around 350Mbps, although upload is pretty poor... Then selecting Optimum Online - New York I get about 35Mbps...its very bad to the new York servers with about 10Mbps upload only.

That's weird. speedtest.lon.websquad.co.za is hosted by Digital Ocean in their London DC - we monitoring this IP constantly and not seeing those levels. Give me a few mins to investigate.
On a side note, as-vuma.jb-is-pld-01.za.ws.net.za is an IP on the Vumatel network before handover (It's s routing IP on the Vumatel Core Network - in this case, an IP at parklands). It's not configured to respond to every ICMP request (so will often show loss or higher latency). As long as the spike there doesn't reflect on the next hop, it's merely that the direct ping between your PC and that device is not the greatest.
I think their might be something funny with their (digitalocean's) network, because even several of my droplets aren't really running particularly well today :/ So ignore me, all is well I believe haha
It appears to be related to the PUBG update where they changed matchmaking for South Africans.... So definitely not an internet issue
Yip. Mine has dropped to 130ms and spikes around 150ms. Also still getting packet loss but a great achievement @websquadzaWow thanks websquad *Carl* my ping has come down from 180ish to breaking into the 150s.still the odd packet loss

@Hingisp you’re in KZN if I remember correctly? Geography still plays a role here. You unfortunately won’t see these gains just yet. This is an improved route via WACS which runs straight from London to Cape Town. Traffic still has to run along terrestrial routes to JHB and KZN, adding further latency. And Eassy routes directly to the EU from KZN are still longer than via terrestrial then CPT (which is why eassy/Seacom are generally failover routes for when WACS has a wobbly). We’re really hoping that someone realises the value in a good CPT to KZN submarine route at some point and connects the two. Right now there’s only a single terrestrial route that’s long and down more often than not (some parts are aerial).

How is browsing speed with Websquad?
Currently on Cool Ideas 100/100 Vumatel and while I'm perfectly happy with downloading / streaming browsing is significantly slower than when I use my phone as a hotspot with MTN. ON fibre there's a few seconds delay between clicking a link and getting a response while on MTN its immediate.

Sounds more like a difference in configs like DNS
That said I switched from telkom LTE and i'm experiencing an improved experience
